Background: This study experimentally validated a computationally optimized screw number and screw distribution far cortical locking distal femur fracture plate and compared the results to traditional implants.

Methods: 24 artificial femurs were osteotomized with a 10 mm fracture gap 60 mm proximal to the intercondylar notch. Three fixation constructs were used.

Objectives: Limb amputation is a possible outcome of acute compartment syndrome. We undertook this study to investigate the occurrence of fasciotomy and amputation in patients with tibial fractures in the Ontario adult population, aiming to evaluate variables that may be associated with each of these outcomes.

Design: Retrospective, population-based cohort study (April 1, 2003-March 31, 2016).

Article Synopsis
  • This study compares two groups of patients with different types of spondylolisthesis (degenerative vs. isthmic) to assess how patient characteristics influence the use of a specific spinal surgery device and their recovery outcomes after one year.
  • Data were collected from patients who underwent surgeries between 2009 and 2016, measuring factors like pain and disability scores to evaluate surgical effectiveness.
  • Results showed that while there were differences in patient demographics and pain symptoms between the groups, similar rates of interbody device use were observed for both, with various clinical outcomes assessed at one year post-surgery.
