: In the case of threatened preterm birth (PTB) before the 34th week of pregnancy, the application of antenatal corticosteroids (ACSs) for the maturation of the fetal lung is a standard procedure in perinatal medicine. Common diagnoses for ACS use in pregnancy are the preterm rupture of membranes (PPROMs), placental bleeding, premature labor, preeclampsia, oligohydramnios, amniotic infection syndrome (AIS), and cervical insufficiency. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the current diagnosis, which results in ACS, and the patient's risk factors influence the risk of PTB events.

These differences are noticeable in admission procedures, resource allocation, content focus and competence assessment at the respective institutions, which in turn result in heterogeneous study experiences. This article highlights the challenges currently facing bachelor degree programmes and the academic qualification of midwives, and identifies future requirements for the development of degree programmes in theory and practice as well as theory-practice transfer, and assessment formats.

To investigate the role of dopamine D1 and D2 receptors within the nucleus accumbens (NAC) in sensorimotor gating in mice, we infused dopamine D1 and D2 receptor agonists (dihydrexidine and quinpirole respectively) directly into the NAC and measured the effects on PPI and on prepulse facilitation. Quinpirole infusions increased PPI and attenuated prepulse facilitation, whereas dihydrexidine had no effects.
