ESPEN guidelines recommend a minimum protein intake of 1.0 g/kg body weight (BW) per day to maintain or restore lean body mass in patients with cancer. During anti-cancer treatment, optimal protein intake is difficult to achieve.

Introduction: Malnutrition is prevalent after stroke, particularly if post-stroke oropharyngeal dysphagia (OD) reduces nutritional intake. To further understand stroke-related malnutrition, a thorough nutritional assessment was performed in ischemic stroke patients with or without OD during sub-acute inpatient rehabilitation.

Methods: In this exploratory, observational, cross-sectional, multi-center study in Germany (NTR6802), ischemic stroke patients with ( = 36) or without ( = 49) OD were age- and sex-matched to healthy reference subjects.

Objectives: It has been recognized that nutritional interventions play a role in improving the nutritional and functional status of older persons. This systematic review summarizes the evidence on nutritional and functional outcomes of nutritional interventions alone or in combination with physical exercise in geriatric rehabilitation patients.

Design: Eight electronic databases were searched until July 1, 2019 to identify nutritional intervention studies in patients aged ≥60 years who were admitted to geriatric rehabilitation.

Objective: The objective of this video is to demonstrate different clinical presentations of peritoneal defects (peritoneal retraction pockets) and their anatomic relationships with the pelvic innervation, justifying the occurrence of some neurologic symptoms in association with these diseases.

Design: Surgical demonstration of complete excision of different types of peritoneal retraction pockets and a comparison with a laparoscopic retroperitoneal cadaveric dissection of the pelvic innervation.

Setting: Private hospital in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.

Purpose: Since there is only limited evidence available for geriatric rehabilitation patients, this systematic review and meta-analysis aims to characterize the nutritional status in this population and its relationship with functionality.

Methods: Eight databases were searched for full-text articles reporting baseline nutritional intake and status of adults ≥ 60 years in rehabilitation settings. Pooled estimates were calculated for prevalence of malnutrition and risk of malnutrition based on the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) and for mean body mass index (BMI).

An adequate nutritional status during the preconception period is important, particularly for folate, vitamin D, and -3 fatty acids (i.e., EPA+DHA).

The complex trans-[Pt(F)(SF )(PCy ) ] (1) shows a diverse reactivity pattern at the SF ligand towards ethanol and Me SiOEt. This led by deoxyfluorination or alcoholysis to the generation of platinum complexes bearing a metal-bound S(O)F or S(OEt) group. For the latter reaction trans-[Pt(F){S(F)(OEt) }(PCy ) ] is suggested as an intermediate.

The activation of SF at [Pt(PR ) ] R=Cy, iPr complexes in the presence of PR led selectively and in an unprecedented reaction route to the generation of the SF complexes trans-[Pt(F)(SF )(PR ) ]. These can also be synthesized from SF and the SF derivative trans-[Pt(F)(SF )(PCy ) ][BF ] was characterized by X-ray crystallography. trans-[Pt(F)(SF )(PR ) ] complexes are useful tools for deoxyfluorination reactions and novel fluorido complexes bearing a SOF ligand are formed.

Stoichiometric reactions of SF5 functionalized bromo or iodo aromatics at [Pd(PiPr3)2] (1) led to the oxidative addition products 3, 5 and 7. They were converted into their corresponding palladium fluorido complexes, which reacted readily with bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) to give the borylated SF5 aromatic compounds. Based on these studies a catalytic borylation of SF5 organyls was developed.
