Background: This analysis is a systematic literature review assessing efficacy and adverse effects of three alpha-2 agonists for the symptomatic management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Methods: The present investigation involved an extensive systematic search for eligible studies in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar. Nine studies, collectively incorporating 226 patients, were assessed.

Single-molecule Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) is a versatile technique for probing the structure and dynamics of biomolecules even in heterogeneous ensembles. However, because of the limited fluorescence brightness per molecule and the relatively long fluorescence lifetimes, probing ultrafast structural dynamics in the nanosecond time scale has thus far been very challenging. Here, we demonstrate that nanophotonic fluorescence enhancement in zero-mode waveguides enables measurements of previously inaccessible low-nanosecond dynamics by dramatically improving time resolution and reduces data acquisition times by more than an order of magnitude.

We explore regions of parameter space that give rise to suppressed direct detection cross sections in a simple model of scalar dark matter with a scalar portal that mixes with the standard model Higgs. We found that even this simple model allows considerable room in the parameter space that has not been excluded by direct detection limits. A number of effects leading to this result have been previously noted.

The dewetted islands have a typical size in the 100 nm range, about one order of magnitude smaller than the etching resolution. Exploiting a 2 µm thick SiO layer separating the islands and the underlying bulk silicon wafer, we combine the resonant modes of the antennas with the etalon effect.
