Malignant uveitis masking a lymphocytic lymphoma.

A multitude of diseases can present as posterior bilateral uveitis. In most cases, the cause of pericardial effusion can be determined, but in some instances, the cause is not apparent even after making a systematic and complete diagnostic evaluation. We report here an unusual case of a patient who had a B-cell lymphochytic lymphoma, which presented as bilateral posterior uveitis.

[Changes in the spectrum of morbidity and mortality in hospital admissions of HIV infected patients during the HAART era].

Background And Objective: After the introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), there was a decrease in hospital admissions and mortality associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. The objective of this study was to analyze the changes in mortality and morbidity during the HAART era.

Patients And Method: We reviewed 1,343 hospital admissions from 610 HIV-infected patients between January 1995 and December 2000.
