Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA) in Different Hispanic Countries: An Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling Approach.

Parental burnout is a unique and context-specific syndrome resulting from a chronic imbalance of risks over resources in the parenting domain. The current research aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA) across Spanish-speaking countries with two consecutive studies. In Study 1, we analyzed the data through a bifactor model within an Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM) on the pooled sample of participants ( = 1,979) obtaining good fit indices.

Internalized stigma and its impact on schizophrenia quality of life.

The internalization of schizophrenia-related stigma highly affects people living with this disease, hindering their recovery process. The aim of this work is to study the effect of alienation and stereotype endorsement on the specific dimensions of schizophrenia-specific quality of life (SQoL), through the damage on self-esteem and self-efficacy. The model was tested in 167 patients with schizophrenia by path analysis using maximum likelihood procedure.

The impact of stigma on subjective well-being in people with mental disorders.

Rationale: People diagnosed with a mental disorder are highly discriminated against, and when they internalize the social stigma they suffer severe consequences which have been associated with greater symptomatology and reduced recovery. This research was carried out in order to develop a predictive model about how discrimination contributes to subjective well-being (positive and negative affects experienced) by means of internalization of stigma (alienation, stereotype endorsement and social withdrawal) and deterioration of positive self-concept (self-esteem and self-efficacy).
