Here, we detail the case of an 81-year-old woman with a medical history including Hodgkin lymphoma, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and multinodular goiter. She presented to the emergency room with stridor, cervical swelling, and breathing difficulties for over 2 days.

Exploring Post-treatment Weight Changes in Overweight and Obese Patients With Graves' Disease: A Retrospective Analysis.

Introduction: Graves' disease (GD) is associated with primary hyperthyroidism, leading to weight loss before treatment. During the treatment, weight gain is frequently observed, often surpassing the initial weight loss. This study aimed to analyze weight fluctuations in GD patients, focusing on the subset of overweight and obese (OAO) individuals, considering the significant metabolic implications and heightened cardiovascular risk of these weight changes.

Follicular lymphoma of the thyroid and the role of core needle biopsy.

Summary: Primary thyroid lymphoma (PTL) is a rare malignancy, accounting for less than 5% of all thyroid neoplasms. The follicular subtype is even more rare, accounting for approximately 10% of all PTL cases. We report a case of a 64-year-old woman, who presented with a rapidly growing goitre with mass effect and B symptoms.

New onset autoimmune diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism secondary to pembrolizumab in a patient with metastatic lung cancer.

Summary: Immunotherapy has become an important pillar for the management of advanced cancer. Immune-related adverse events including endocrinopathies have been well described with programmed cell death 1 inhibitors such as pembrolizumab. While thyroid dysfunction is the most common endocrinopathy associated with pembrolizumab, new-onset autoimmune diabetes mellitus (DM) is extremely rare.

Parathyroid carcinoma: Single centre experience.

Objective: Parathyroid Carcinoma is a rare malignant neoplasm, accounting for less than 1% of primary hyperparathyroidism cases. Parathyroid carcinomas are characterized by markedly elevated levels of PTH, severe hypercalcemia and established target organ damage. The authors report the experience of a single centre regarding the management and outcome of patients with parathyroid carcinomas and revise relevant literature.

Functioning metastasis from adrenocortical carcinoma.

Recurrence of Cushing's syndrome due to functional metastasis from adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) after adrenalectomy is extremely rare. We describe a case of a 56-year-old woman who presented with Cushing's syndrome due to an ACC. Abdominal CT showed a heterogeneous left adrenal tumour of 8 cm as well as a right adrenal nodule with 3 cm.

Successful treatment of pituitary gigantism.

Pituitary gigantism is extremely rare, resulting from excessive secretion of growth hormone (GH) before fusion of epiphysial growth plates. We report a case of a 13-year-old boy, who presented with increased statural growth and headaches since the age of 10 years. On physical examination, his height was 180.

Influence of the treatment with the antineoplastic agents 5-fluorouracil and cisplatin on the severity of experimental periodontitis in rats.

Purpose: The determination on how antineoplastic agents interfere on the progression of periodontitis is critical for improvement and even development of novel therapeutic approaches for periodontal management. This study evaluated the influence of chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) or cisplatin (CIS) on healthy periodontal tissues and on the progression of experimental periodontitis (EP).

We report a case of a 46-year-old woman who presented with a midline neck mass 2 years after total thyroidectomy for Graves' disease. Despite levothyroxine treatment withdrawal, she remained biochemically with subclinical hyperthyroidism. Her thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibodies were consistently elevated.

We describe a case of progressive gynecomastia at age 20 due to a Leydig cell tumor of the right testicle in a patient with a previous history of left-sided cryptorchidism.
