Impact of therapeutic education with a written document on treatments knowledge and adherence among elderly patients. Results of a pilot study.

Unlabelled: Olders patients are exposed to iatrogenic risk as they are often frail, with multiple pathologies and therefore polymedicated. The objective of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of treatment in the elderly before and after a time of oral therapeutic education accompanied by the submission of a written educational support. The impact of that education on the adhesion was also evaluated.

[Influenza and pneumococcal vaccine coverage among patients admitted to an acute geriatric unit].

Elderly patients are particularly affected by influenza and pneumococcal infections and consequences of these infections in this population are huge because of the frailty of these patients. Vaccines are nevertheless available to prevent these diseases. The aim of the study was to assess influenza and anti-pneumococcal vaccination coverage among patients admitted in acute geriatric unit and the characteristics of the vaccinated patients.
