Introduction: Solitary plasmacytomas are tumors characterized by a local increase of malignant plasma cells in soft tissue or bone and may occur anywhere without evidence of systemic disease. The aim was to focus on the main surgical techniques and outcomes for this rare chest wall tumor.

Methods: Patients with solitary plasmacytoma involving a rib, who were operated for diagnostic or treatment purposes between 2018 and 2023 were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Evidence suggests that natural disasters, such as earthquakes, can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with women being particularly vulnerable. However, there is a dearth of knowledge about the underlying mechanisms linking traumatic experiences to PTSD as well as gender differences in the operation of these mechanisms. This study examined the mediating effect of intrusive rumination and the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between earthquake exposure level and PTSD symptoms.

Technical aspects of reconstruction for inadequate left atrial cuff in lung transplantation.

Objective: Lung transplantation is the only life-saving treatment for lung diseases that do not respond to medical treatment. Heart-lung harvesting requires a careful procedure to protect an adequate donor left atrial cuff around the junction of the superior and inferior pulmonary veins. This study aims to describe inadequate left atrial cuff during harvest and techniques of reconstruction at the threshold of literature.

Early age of gambling onset, ease of gambling with technological developments and lack of controlling online gambling games have led to unmanageable risk of gambling. Individual-centered approaches play a significant role in managing the risk that gambling poses on public health and discerning the heterogeneity of gambling addiction. Therefore, this study employed Latent Profile Analysis (LPA), one of the individual-centered approaches, to model the interactions across the psychosocial characteristics of gamblers.

N1 lymph node detection in lymph node harvesting in non-small cell lung cancer: Formaldehyde exposure is a drawback?

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of lymph node dissection method on staging results, diagnosis of tumor metastasis in single or multiple N1 lymph nodes and survival rates in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: Patients with NSCLC who underwent anatomic resection between September 2014 and October 2019 were examined prospectively. All patients with similar clinico-demographic characteristics were randomly assigned to either the surgical group (n = 83) or the pathology group (n = 87).

First case of bilateral diaphragm eventration successfully repaired through an abdominal approach following lung transplantation.
