Objective: To study the chest CT profile of SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia in patients in the city of Ouagadougou.

Patients And Methods: descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective collection of 1017 patients of both sexes. Included were patients aged 15 and over who had performed a chest CT scan without or with injection of contrast product, suspected or positive for COVID -19.

Aortic dissection-Pulmonary embolism association: A therapeutic dilemma.

Aortic dissection is a rare but serious condition Its association with pulmonary embolism is exceptional and produces a real therapeutic dilemma. We are discussing the case of a 67-year-old male patient who presented with paraplegia with infectious syndrome. The chest X-ray performed to screen for an infectious site led to the suspicion of an aortic aneurysm and the CT angiography showed Stanford type B aortic dissection associated with bilateral proximal pulmonary embolism.

We report the case of a 51-year-old male who developed a massive mass involving the upper right pulmonary vein. The tumor was removed and the final pathology report disclosed metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma.

Evaluating the Recombinant T24H Enzyme-Linked Immunoelectrotransfer Blot Assay for the Diagnosis of Neurocysticercosis in a Panel of Samples from a Large Community-Based Randomized Control Trial in 60 Villages in Burkina Faso.

Current guidelines for the diagnosis of neurocysticercosis (NCC) recommend the use of the lentil lectin-bound glycoprotein enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot assay (LLGP-EITB) as the reference standard for serological testing. In response to the drawbacks involved with the use of the LLGP-EITB, a recombinant T24H antigen (rT24H) EITB assay was developed, with promising results. However, the test has yet to be evaluated among individuals from sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

[Management of brain abscesses in era of computed tomography in sub-Saharan Africa: a review of 112 cases].

Patients And Method: The authors report a retrospective study conducted on 112 cases of cerebral abscesses collected over a period of 12 years from the medical records of the department of neurosurgery at the Yalgado Ouedraogo university teaching hospital, Ouagadougou-Burkina Faso.

Results: The analyses were conducted on the epidemiological, clinical and prognostic aspects of the cases. The mean age of the patients (73 men and 39 women) was 26 years.

Purpose: To estimate the lifetime prevalence of neurocysticercosis (NCC)-associated epilepsy and the proportion of NCC among people with epilepsy in three Burkina Faso villages.

Methods: Three villages were selected to represent three types of pig-rearing methods: (1) Batondo, where pigs are left to roam; (2) Pabré, where pigs are mostly tethered or penned; and (3) Nyonyogo, where the majority of residents are Muslim and few pigs are raised. In Batondo and Nyonyogo, all concessions (a group of several households) were included.
