[Anaesthesia in on-pump cardiac surgery for congenital heart diseases at the Cuomo Pediatric Cardiology Center (Senegal)].

Congenital heart diseases account for 0.5-1% of births. The management of children with cardiac malformation requires treatment in a suitable center, adequate medical equipment and specific anesthetic and surgical knowledge.

Postoperative morbidity and mortality from aortic valve replacements in 25 cases in Senegal.

The purpose is to study the short- and medium-term morbidity and mortality linked to the implantation of an aortic prosthesis during cardiac surgery. This is a longitudinal, retrospective and descriptive study which takes place over a period from January 2017 to March 2020 (38 months) at the level of the thoracic and cardiovascular surgery clinic of the university Hospital Center of Fann in Dakar. All patients who underwent aortic valve replacement during this period were included in the study.

[Indications and results of surgical resection of bubbles arising from pulmonary emphysema].

Surgical resection of bubbles or bullectomy is the gold standard in the treatment of bubbles arising from pulmonary emphysema. It is usually indicated for patients with complicated bubbles or when they are the underlying cause of disabling dyspnea. This study aims to determine the indications for bullectomy and to evaluate surgical outcomes in our Department.

GEOMETRIC PROGRESSIONS ON ELLIPTIC CURVES.

In this paper, we look at long geometric progressions on different model of elliptic curves, namely Weierstrass curves, Edwards and twisted Edwards curves, Huff curves and general quartics curves. By a geometric progression on an elliptic curve, we mean the existence of rational points on the curve whose -coordinate (or -coordinate) are in geometric progression. We find infinite families of twisted Edwards curves and Huff curves with geometric progressions of length 5, an infinite family of Weierstrass curves with 8 term progressions, as well as infinite families of quartic curves containing 10-term geometric progressions.

Arithmetic Progressions on Conics.

In this paper, we look at long arithmetic progressions on conics. By an arithmetic progression on a curve, we mean the existence of rational points on the curve whose -coordinates are in arithmetic progression. We revisit arithmetic progressions on the unit circle, constructing 3-term progressions of points in the first quadrant containing an arbitrary rational point on the unit circle.

[Anatomical bases of external pudendal artery injuries during surgical treatment of pelvic limb varices].

Introduction: External pudendal artery is a collateral branch of the common femoral artery which is the primary blood supply to the penis or the clitoris. Its relationship with the venous arch of the great saphenous vein and its afferents in femoral triangle, are very narrow. This often entails injuries during crossectomy and great saphenous vein stripping.

Giant Arteriovenous Malformation of the Neck.

Arteriovenous malformations (AVM) have a wide range of clinical presentations. Operative bleeding is one of the most hazardous complications in the surgical management of high-flow vascular malformations. In the cervical region, the presence of vital vascular structures, such as the carotid artery and jugular vein, may increase this risk.

Penetrating Heart Injury due to Screwdriver Assault.

Penetrating heart injuries cause wounds in the cardiac chambers. Most of them are due to gunshot or stabbing by knives. Screwdriver is an uncommon weapon.

[Results of surgical treatment for pulmonary aspergilloma].

Introduction: Aspergilloma results from the development, inside preexisting pulmonary cavities, of aspergillus spores. It is most commonly manifested by hemoptysis. The goal of this retrospective study is to report our surgical experience of this disease.

Left atrium papillary fibroelastomas: a cause of cerebral emboli.

Papillary fibroelastomas are cardiac benign tumours. Among the benign cardiac tumor, papillary fibroelastomas are reported second after myxomas. Most often diagnosed incidentally, papillary fibroelastomas may embolize to cerebral circulation.

[Mitral valve repair for rheumatic valve disease in children in Senegal: a review of 100 cases].

Mitral valve repair is a better therapeutic alternative than valve replacement for rheumatic valve disease in children. Repair procedures are especially well suited to developing countries where heart prostheses and life-long anti-coagulation therapy are largely unaffordable. The purpose of this study was to evaluate medium-term outcome of mitral valve repair in children in Senegal.

[Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome: a case report].

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to illustrate a rare vascular malformation and to make a literature review.

Patient: Klippel-Trenaunay's syndrome is a congenital disorder which characterized by capillary malformation, varicosities and bony or soft tissue hypertrophy. This disease is subject to significant morbidity like bleeding, deep vein thrombosis, embolic complications and in some cases enlargement of limb that may require amputation.

[Right iliac artery aneurism revealed by a left leg ulcer].

Objective: The aim of this study is to expose a secondary cause of venous insufficiency which surgical treatment.

Observation: A 73 old man with a huge aneurism of the right common iliac artery which compressed the left common iliac vein was described. The patient had a unilateral left leg oedema and stasing ulcer.

[Giant compressive mediastinal lipoma: a case report].

Mediastinal lipoma is a rare mesenchymatous fatty tumor in child. Usually asymptomatic, it can cause asphyxiation. The authors report the case of an 18 month-baby-girl referred to us by the pediatric department for asphyxiation.
