Flow-diverting stents for the treatment of unruptured distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms: analysis of the CRETA Registry.

Background: Data about the safety and the efficacy of flow diversion for distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA) aneurysms are limited. We present the largest multicenter analysis evaluating the outcomes of flow diversion in unruptured DACA aneurysm treatment.

Methods: Databases from 39 centers were retrospectively reviewed for unruptured DACA aneurysms treated with flow-diverting stents.

Balloon protection of the Labbe vein during venous sinus stenting.

Endovascular treatment of dural venous sinus stenosis using auto-expandable stents is progressively becoming a central part in the management of patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) and pulsatile tinnitus. One potential concern during stenting is impairment of venous outflow in the Labbé vein, which usually drains in close proximity to the culprit transverse sinus stenosis. We propose a technique which can counteract venous outflow impairment, consisting of temporary balloon protection of the Labbé vein during stent deployment.

A Late Testicular Relapse in an Adult with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, 5 Years after the Diagnosis and 4 Years after Allotransplant-A Rare Case.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant disorder of lymphoid progenitor cells that affects both pediatric and adult populations. Although isolated testicular or any other organ recurrence can occur in the pediatric population, it is rare in adults. We present images for an atypical case of the late testicular recurrence of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in a 56-year-old man previously diagnosed with ALL pro-T who was in remission following polychemotherapy (GMALL 2013 protocol) and the allotransplantation of peripheral blood stem cells from a related donor.

Uterine embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma in adult women: a case report on the challenging diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Uterine embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (uERMS) in adult women is a very rare malignant entity. The study aim was to report a case of adult uERMS and to discuss the implications of histopathological diagnosis on the treatment and prognosis.

Case Presentation: We present here the clinicopathological features of a uERMS case in an adult woman.

A rare case of situs inversus totalis associated with sigmoid diverticulitis and appendicular agenesis. Embryological, clinical considerations and literature review.

The revelation of situs inversus totalis by a peritoneal syndrome is an extremely rare event. The association of this condition with sigmoid diverticulitis and agenesis of the vermiform appendix has not been described in the literature. This paper aims to present the first case of this type while screening the literature on this topic.

Atypical posterior circulation strokes: a case-based review of rare anatomical variations involved.

The circle of Willis is a very important vascular mechanism of protecting against cerebral ischemia, especially when circulation within the main arteries irrigating the brain is somehow impeded. As result of congenital malformation arising early in embryonic development, the fetal-type posterior circle of Willis remains as such during the rest of one's life. Consequently, the posterior cerebral artery (PCA) becomes a branch of the internal carotid artery (ICA), rather than of the basilar artery (BA).
