Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) includes several rare malignant diseases occurring after pregnancy: invasive moles, choriocarcinoma, placental site trophoblastic tumours, and epithelioid trophoblastic tumours. Multidisciplinary protocols including multi-agent chemotherapy, surgery, and occasionally radiotherapy achieve good outcomes for some high-risk metastatic patients. In this narrative review of the published studies on the topic, we have tried to identify the role of radiotherapy.

Fertility preservation strategies should be included during the treatment pathway to prevent the risk of infertility, but the decision to preserve fertility often represents a challenging process that carries an emotional decision-making burden. The aim of this study is to characterize the psychological profiles of women undergoing fertility preservation counseling and to better understand their features.

Fertility preservation can be achieved via the cryopreservation of gametes after controlled ovarian stimulation before cancer treatment. A reduced response to hormonal stimulation in patients suffering from certain types of malignancy is reported.

The aim of this study was to compare data from patients affected by these two histotypes to investigate the hypothesis of a dichotomy in the histogenesis of these tumors. Clinical data and tumor characteristics of 48 patients who were diagnosed with either pure clear cell ovarian cancer and mixed endometrioid-clear cell ovarian cancer arising from endometriosis (ECC, = 22) or endometriosis-associated endometrioid ovarian cancer (EAEOC, = 26) were compared.

This research proposes a cement-free cold granulation process for manufactured low-cost aggregates from marine sediments contaminated with organic compounds and metals. After the chemo-physical characterization of the study materials, two mix designs were prepared in a rotary plate granulator by adding two industrial by-products as geopolymer precursors, coal fly ash (CFA) and Blast Furnace Slag (BFS), but also alkaline activation solutions, water, and a fluidizer.

However, psychological outcomes in this population have been overlooked in the literature. The present study aims to identify significant psychological differences between gynecological cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy before and during the pandemic.

Boxing as a form of exercise has been shown to have mental health benefits in adults. This study investigated the impact of boxing exercise with a virtual reality (VR) game vs.

Anti-angiogenic drugs are used to reduce the growth of the tumor and its metastases by acting on the phenomenon of tumor neo-angiogenesis.

Methods: retrospective study, including 123 EC patients who underwent F-FDG PET (2009-2021) for preoperative staging. Maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), SUVmean, metabolic tumour volume (MTV), and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) were computed on the primary tumour.
Introduction: Fallopian tube carcinoma (FC) as a single entity is a rare disease. Although its diagnosis is increasing thanks to the widespread use of prophylactic salpingectomy, there are no clinical trials exclusively designed for FC.
Areas Covered: This review aims at identifying the most promising trials and future therapeutic pathways in the setting of FC.
This contribution presents the preparation and characterization of new geopolymer-based mortars obtained from recycling waste deriving from the production process and the "end-of-life" of porcelain stoneware products. Structural, morphological, and mechanical studies carried out on different kinds of mortars prepared by using several types of by-products (i.e.

Mechanisms of gonadotoxicity, such as primordial follicle overactivation and "burnout", remain to be established. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) before treatment plays an important role in safeguarding fertility.

Malignant forms are called gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) and include invasive mole, choriocarcinoma, placental site trophoblastic tumor and epithelioid trophoblastic tumor. Standard treatment of GTN is chemotherapy.

Methods: The sample of the present research consisted of 104 patients. The European Organization on Research and Treatment of Cancer QLQ-C30, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-Form Y, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support were administered to each participant.
To develop a predictive model for ovarian failure (OF) after chemotherapy in young post-pubertal women with cancer. Retrospective, monocentric cohort study including 348 patients referring to the Oncofertility Unit of San Raffaele Hospital (Milan, Italy) from August 2011 to January 2020. A predictive model was constructed by multivariate logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic analysis.

In particular, at equal environmental impact, the higher the durability of construction materials, the higher the sustainability. The present review deals with the possible strategies aimed at producing sustainable and durable reinforced concrete structures in different environments.

In patients who desire to preserve fertility, when possible, unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with peritoneal surgical staging is a safe alternative to radical treatment. In this review, we analyze the available literature on the obstetrical outcomes after fertility-sparing surgery in a total of 255 patients with sex cord stromal tumors.

Chemotherapy during pregnancy has shown to be safe, however, there are reports of increased risks of fetal complications such as intrauterine growth restriction and preterm birth. Also, how to best adjust this to the pharmacokinetic characteristics of a twin gestation has yet to be fully investigated.

BRCA proteins are part of the DNA repair Fanconi anemia (FA)/BRCA pathway, in which more than 20 proteins are implicated. According to which gene is mutated and which interactions are lost owing to the mutation, carriers and patients with monoallelic or biallelic FA/BRCA mutations exhibit very different phenotypes, from overt FA to cancer predisposition or no pathological implications.
