Here in we present a 74-year-old case of esophago-pericardial fistula with pericardial effusion and pneumopericardium. Bone-related esophageal trauma was the cause of the esophago-pericardial fistula. The esophago-pericardial fistula was diagnosed with echocardiography, computerized tomography (CT) and endoscopy.

Background/aims: There are a variety of factors that affect the quality of colonoscopy bowel preparations, although the relationship between the level of health literacy (HL) and the quality of bowel preparations has yet to be clarified. The present study evaluated the effect of HL on the quality of bowel preparation prior to a colonoscopy.

Introduction: This study evaluated the quality of life of patients with type II diabetes in primary health care with the Turkish version of the Audit of Diabetes Dependent Quality of Life (ADDQoL) instrument.

Material And Methods: A total of 180 patients diagnosed with type II diabetes and registered at an urban primary health care unit in Turkey were included to this study.

Results: The ADDQoL instrument showed good internal consistency and factor structure.

Introduction: Subjects (n = 46) with type 2 diabetes who responded inadequately to two and three oral medications (HbA₁(C) > 8.0%) were consecutively recruited for treatment with premixed insulin 30/70 two times a day in order to investigate whether previous oral therapies may predict insulin requirements.

Material And Methods: In this prospective study, men and women were eligible to participate if they were aged between 30 and 65 years, had had a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus for at least 12 months, were insulin-naive and had been treated unsuccessfully with either two or three oral antidiabetic drugs for a minimum of three months.

The goal of this study is determine the mechanical equivalent of heat and the functional capacity of metabolism of walking at a slow pace (velocity = 4022m/hour, length of a step=75cm, energy utilization of a 70 kg person is 200kcal/hour). 50 healthy physicians were chosen randomly, and up and down motion of the body were determined as 6cm while stepping.
