Most honey bee pathogens, such as Vairimorpha (Nosema), cannot be rapidly and definitively diagnosed in a natural setting, consequently there is typically the spread of these diseases through shared and re-use of beekeeping equipment. Furthermore, there are no viable treatment options available for Nosema spores to aid in managing the spread of this bee disease. We therefore aimed to develop a new method using novel Zinc Phthalocyanine (ZnPc) as a photosensitizer for the photodynamic inactivation of Nosema spores that could be used for the decontamination of beekeeping equipment.

Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women worldwide.Photodynamic therapy(PDT) has now proven to be a promising form of cancer therapy due to its targeted and low cytotoxicity to healthy cells and tissues.PDT is a technique used to create cell death localized by light after application of a light-sensitive agent.

Object: Since the atlantoaxial region have critical neurovascular anatomy and limited bone surface for fusion, the application and choice of salvage fixation techniques are highly important. To discuss alternative posterior atlantoaxial fixation surgery techniques.
Methods: We retrospectively surgical records of 22 patients that posterior atlantoaxial fixation techniques were applied.
The research aims to investigate the emotional response and protective behaviors of domestic tourists’ post-pandemic period and their holiday intentions or holiday avoidance behaviors. For this reason, understanding tourist behavior during and after significant tourism crises is critical for the recovery of the tourism industry. To achieve this aim, first, we examine the effects of perceived vulnerability and perceived severity factors in the threat appraisal of domestic tourists, the effects of the response efficacy, response cost, and self-efficacy factors in the coping appraisal, and the effects of fear and hope factors as the anticipatory emotion responses regarding protection motivation.

Pterional craniotomy is a surgical approach frequently used in aneurysm and skull base surgery. Pterional craniotomy may lead to cosmetic and functional problems, such as eyebrow drop due to facial nerve frontal branch damage, temporal muscle atrophy, and temporomandibular joint pain. The aim was to compare the postoperative effects of our modified osteoplastic craniotomy with classical pterional craniotomy in terms of any change in volume of temporal muscle and in the degree of frontal muscle nerve damage.

Materials And Methods: The study cohort included the treatment of 430 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and 170 chronic hepatitis C (CHC) of naive patients. The patients were divided into two groups as mild to moderate and severe fibrosis.
Background And Goals: The aims of the present study were to investigate the natural history of cirrhosis and to determine trends in the etiology of cirrhosis.
Methods: Between January 2001 and January 2018, a total of 1,341 patients had been diagnosed with cirrhosis and were included.
Results: A total of 898 cirrhotic patients, who were followed up for at least 6 months were included into the analysis.
Background And Aim: The present study aims to describe the characteristics and long-term clinical outcomes of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Material And Methods: A total of 1308 individuals with NAFLD were seen in the Liver Diseases Outpatient Clinic. Diagnosis of NAFLD in each case was based on biochemical, radiological and histological criteria, when available.
Objective: Transorbital approaches for neurosurgery have recently attracted attention and several anatomical studies have aimed to improve these techniques, but significant deficiencies in clinical practice remain, especially for aneurysm surgery. The authors present an alternative microsurgical route and the results of an analysis of patients with intracranial aneurysms who underwent a lateral transorbital approach (LTOA) using lateral orbito-zygoma-sphenotomy (LOZYGS).
Methods: The clinical and surgical results of a series of 54 consecutive patients with 1 or more aneurysms who underwent surgery via LTOA are reported.
To evaluate the antioxidant and radio-protective effects of oil (NSO) and thymoquinone (TQ) on radiation-induced oxidative stress in brain tissue. Fifty-four Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into six groups to test the radio-protective effectiveness of oil and thymoquine administered by either orogastric tube or intraperitoneal injection. Appropriate control groups were also studied.

Natriuretic peptides are structurally similar, but genetically distinct, hormones that participate in cardiovascular homeostasis by regulating blood and extracellular fluid volume and blood pressure. We investigated the distribution of natriuretic peptides and their receptors in goat (Capra hircus) heart tissue using the peroxidase-anti-peroxidase (PAP) immunohistochemical method. Strong staining of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) was observed in atrial cardiomyocytes, while strong staining for brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) was observed in ventricular cardiomyocytes.

Having knowledge about this variation will prevent a misdiagnosis of a posterior fossa tumor and eventual unnecessary biopsy or operation.

Efforts have been, in particular, focused on the improvement of LC technique. Adhesion promoters of the crystallized Si thin films at the glass interface play a crucial role in the stability and device performance of fabricated structures.

It was found that most of the immunoreactive (IR) endocrine cells, which are oval- or spindle-shaped, are spotted in the basal parts of the relevant glands.

We investigated carbohydrate residues on the epithelial surface, in the epithelial cells and in gland cells of the tongue of the mole rat using histochemical methods. We used horseradish peroxidase-conjugated lectins from Helix pomatia (HPA), Arachishypogaea (PNA), Ulexeuropaeus (UEA I), Canavaliaensiformis (Con A). The most intense reactivity was observed in the keratin layer with HPA, UEA I and Con A, and in the epithelial cells with UEA I and Con A.

Persistence of postoperative radicular pain after surgery for multifocal disc herniation (MFDH) is a clinical problem. This study aims to evaluate the effects of a combined treatment approach compared with unilateral stabilization on early postoperative radicular pain in patients with MFDH.Age, sex, level of operation, clinical findings, and radicular pain visual analogue scale (VAS) scores before surgery in the early postoperative period and at 3 months after surgery were retrospectively reviewed for 20 cases of multifocal lumbar disc herniation.

The increased usage of fiber reinforced polymer composites in load bearing applications requires a detailed understanding of the process induced residual stresses and their effect on the shape distortions. This is utmost necessary in order to have more reliable composite manufacturing since the residual stresses alter the internal stress level of the composite part during the service life and the residual shape distortions may lead to not meeting the desired geometrical tolerances. The occurrence of residual stresses during the manufacturing process inherently contains diverse interactions between the involved physical phenomena mainly related to material flow, heat transfer and polymerization or crystallization.
