Fluorescent proteins (FPs) stand as pivotal tools extensively employed across diverse biological research endeavors in various model systems. However, long-standing concerns surround their use due to the numerous side effects associated with their expression. Recent investigations have brought to light the significance of hydrogen peroxide (HO) that is associated with the maturation process of green fluorescent protein (GFP) fluorophores.

The present study aimed to evaluate sexual dysfunction in patients who underwent anterior resection (AR) and low AR (LAR) surgery secondary to rectosigmoid pathologies in our clinic, to analyze the effective variables, and to compare the results.
Methods: In the retrospectively designed study, male patients who underwent surgery for malignancy or other surgical pathologies in the General Surgery Clinic between January 2017 and December 2022 were examined.
Background: As with any other invasive procedure, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) may lead to considerable anxiety in patients. This study aimed to investigate and compare the effects of sedated and non-sedated procedures on anxiety in patients undergoing EGD and to better recognize patient groups at risk for anxiety.
Methods: In this prospective and 2-armed designed study, demographic data, including age, gender, comorbidities, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), and educational background, were collected.
Myelin is an essential component of the nervous system and myelin damage causes demyelination diseases. Myelin is a sheet of oligodendrocyte membrane wrapped around the neuronal axon. In the fluorescent images, experts manually identify myelin by co-localization of oligodendrocyte and axonal membranes that fit certain shape and size criteria.

Objectives: In this study, it was aimed to examine food sensitivity in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) and to investigate the frequency of food allergy in patients with food sensitivity.
Methods: Patients aged 0-2 years who were followed up with the diagnosis of AD were included in the study. The characteristics of demographic and clinical and laboratory findings of the patients were recorded retrospectively.
Objective: Anaphylaxis is an acute, life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction. We aimed to evaluate the demographic and clinical characteristics of patients presenting with anaphylaxis, as well as triggers and risk factors, and to determine the rate of adrenaline auto-injector (AAI) usage.
Methods: The study was planned in the pediatric allergy outpatient clinic over a 1-year period.

Introduction: Skin tests are one of the most widely used diagnostic tools for suspected drug allergies in children. Studies on systemic reactions occurring during skin testing with allergens have mostly been conducted in pediatric and adult patient groups together. However, data on adverse reactions including allergic reactions after drug skin tests in children are scarce.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the data of adult patients admitted to the only tertiary care center in Somalia with the diagnosis of urolithiasis and to present the first report from this Sub-Saharan African country.
Patients And Methods: This study was designed as a retrospective single-center study conducted in Somalia Turkiye Training and Research Hospital. Adult patients who received the diagnosis of urolithiasis and who were admitted to the urology department constituted the target population.
Aim: This study aimed to determine whether there were differences in attitude, awareness, and intention to perform female genital mutilation or cutting for their daughters in the future between female healthcare providers and mothers.
Methods: A comparative cross-sectional study design was used.
Results: A total of 508 women were included in the study.
Objective: This study investigated the correlation between dental calculi grading and renal stone burden grading.
Patients And Methods: This study was designed as an observational single-center study and included consecutive patients with radiologically confirmed renal stones at our center between January 2022 and July 2022. These patients were referred to the dentistry clinic for a dental examination to assess dental calculi and oral hygiene.
Chemogenetic Operation of iNTRacellular prOton Levels (pH-Control) is a novel substrate-based enzymatic method that enables precise spatiotemporal control of ultralocal acidification in cultured cell lines and primary neurons. The genetically encoded biosensor SypHer3s showed that pH-Control effectively acidifies cytosolic, mitochondrial, and nuclear pH exclusively in the presence of β-chloro-d-alanine in living cells in a concentration-dependent manner. The pH-Control approach is promising for investigating the ultralocal pH imbalance associated with many diseases.

Background: Emergency anterior abdominal wall hernia surgery plays a pivotal role in emergency general surgery practice. In this study, the predictive value of laboratory and imaging findings as well as demographic information and comorbidities of the patients for the recognition of strangulation and intestinal resection was investigated.
Methods: Patients over the age of 18 who were operated consecutively with an indication for emergency anterior abdominal wall hernia surgery between January 2017 and December 2019 in a single tertiary hospital were included in this retrospective cohort study.
Background: Over the last few years, the deceased donor organ donation rate was declined or remained stable, whereas the live donor organ donation rate has increased to compensate for the demand. Minimally invasive techniques for live donor nephrectomy (LDN) have also improved the live donor kidney donation rates. This increase has led to an interest in the surgical procedures used for LDN.

Renal parenchymal lacerations usually accompany them, and nephrectomy is performed in these cases. Although angioembolization of the renal artery can negate the need for nephrectomy while treating the RAP, it is not a nephron-sparing procedure.

Acute abdomen is a serious condition frequently encountered in the emergency departments (ED). There are various etiologies causing acute abdomen, most common being acute appendicitis; however, there are rare causes of acute abdomen as well and one should keep them in mind while handling a patient with unusual clinical features. We herein present a 26-year-old male, with no past medical or surgical history, presenting with acute abdominal pain and distension to the ED.
