Objective: Osteoporosis, defined as a systemic skeletal disease, is characterized by increased bone fragility and fracture risk. Studies have shown that dysregulation of the functions of miRNAs or the mechanisms they mediate may be an important pathological factor in bone degeneration. Therefore, the aim of the study was to determine the role of miRNAs, which are thought to play a role in bone metabolism, in osteoporosis.

While the effects of systemic reninangi otens in-aldosterone system activation on heart failure with reduced ejection fraction are well known, the impact of the local reninangi otens in-aldosterone system on heart failure with reduced ejection fraction is not fully understood because of limited clinical research. This study aimed to investigate the effect of urinary angiotensinogen level, an accepted indicator of local reninangi otens in-aldosterone system activation, on all-cause mortality in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.

The aim of this study was to identify antimicrobial resistance and virulence factor genes exhibited by multidrug resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii, to analyze biofilm formation and to investigate clonal subtypes of isolate. Whole genome sequencing was done by Illumina NovaSeq 6,000 platform and multilocus sequence typing (MLST) was performed by Oxford and Pasteur typing schemes. Influence of imipenem and levofloxacin on biofilm formation was investigated in 96-well plates at 3 replicates.

Pocket sized USG devices (PSUDs) are more affordable, accessible, practical, and learning to use them is easier than standard ultrasound devices (SUDs). Their capability in image quality have been found as comparable with standard USG machines.

The detection of these cells in peripheral blood is associated with increased mortality and poor prognosis. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether NRBCs predict for all causes of death in patients admitted to the emergency department (ED).

Standard USG (SUDs) devices can be bulky and may break down the workflow. The validity and reliability of pocket-sized USG devices (PSUDs) compared to SUDs for ONSD measurement has not been investigated, yet.

This prospective, randomized trial compared the clinical and radiographic performance of REPs using platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), a platelet pellet (PP), and an induced blot clot (BC).
Methods: Sixty-seven healthy children (aged 8-11 years) with 88 immature necrotic incisors were included.
Purpose: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition characterized by irreversible loss of functional nephron mass due to variety of causes; an inevitable complication of CKD is metabolic bone disease, and this pathology is called as renal osteodystrophy (ROD). In this study, we aimed to determine the levels of serum sRANKL and intracellular NF-κB levels in peripheral blood osteoclast precursor cells in patients with stage 3 CKD.
Materials And Methods: Forty-one male patients aged 35-60 with CKD identified as stage 3 according to GFR calculated on the basis of creatinine values and 27 healthy male subjects with age ranging from 40 to 60 as control group were included in this study.
Background: Burns can cause life-threatening injuries and severe limitations. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the structured home-based exercise program on depression status and quality of life in burn patients.
Materials And Methods: This study was carried out in the Wound and Burn Treatment Department of University of Health Sciences, Dr.
Background: The anterior clinoid process (ACP) is usually removed during surgical procedures of the cellar region. The ACP may be different length and width in people; it may be also pneumatic. Therefore, we aimed to determine dimensions and rates of pneumatisation of the ACP in the large study group with clinically importance.

It can be defined as transient vertigo induced by rapid changes in head position associated with a characteristic paroxysmal positional nystagmus. The aim of this study was to search for the possible role of oxidative stress and inflammatory mediators in the pathogenesis of BPPV.

Background: Data on central region morphometry of a child brain is important not only in terms of providing us with information about central region anatomy of the brain but also in terms of the help of this information for the plans to be applied in neurosurgery.
Objective: In the present study, central region morphometry of a child brain in mid-sagittal MR images was analyzed in age and gender groups.
Materials And Methods: Different points determined previously, commissura posterior0 (PC) and the distances between cerebral cortex point (VCS) vertical to commissura anterior- commissura posterior line, sulcus centralis (CS), sulcus marginalis (MS), and the angle (α) between CS-PC-MS were determined and measured together with difference of gender in three different age groups (aged 6-9, 10-13, and 14-17).
Fenestrations of vertebral arteries are considered to be rare abnormalities observed in angiographic and autopsy studies. They result from vascular abnormalities that occur during the embryological development of vertebral artery. Fenestrations of the vertebral artery are vascular structures having 2 different lumens and endothelium layers, sharing either the same or separate adventitia layers.

Recent studies show that the cerebellum contributes to higher cognitive functions as well as its role on motor system. It is thought that higher cognitive functions continue to develop during childhood and adolescence; therefore, cerebellum develops significantly during these periods. For that reason, this study was carried out in order to determine cerebellar volumes of 90 healthy individuals (40 males, 50 females) aged between 6 and 17 years according to their gender.
