Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed two radioimmunoconjugates, In-DTPA-trastuzumab and Lu-DOTA-trastuzumab, focusing on how different chelating agents affect their properties and binding to HER2 tumor cells.
  • Despite the variations in chelating agents, the molar ratios (1:10 and 1:20) did not compromise the integrity, labeling process, or stability of the antibodies.
  • However, notable differences were found in the lipophilicity and binding efficiency to HER2 positive SK-BR-3 cells, indicating that selecting the right chelating agent and ratio is crucial for developing effective radioimmunoconjugates.

Background: Fibroadenoma is the most common breast tumor in young women, and its growth and metabolism may be under hormonal control. In the present paper we described the proteoglycan (PG) composition and synthesis rate of normal breast and fibroadenoma during the menstrual cycle.

Methods: Samples of fibroadenoma and adjacent normal breast tissue were obtained at surgery.

Background: The relevance of glycosaminoglycan determination in biological fluids is gradually gaining importance in the literature. Nevertheless, the results obtained by different methods vary widely. We evaluated 1,9-dimethylmethylene blue (DMB) dye-binding assays for quantification of urinary glycosaminoglycans, in comparison to densitometry after agarose gel electrophoresis.

The aim of the present study was to further understand the changes in renal filtration that occur in the early stages of diabetes mellitus. Diabetes was induced in male Wistar rats by a single injection of streptozotocin. Glycemia, body weight, 24-h urine volume and urinary excretion of creatinine, protein and glycosaminoglycans were measured 10 and 30 days after diabetes induction.
