Introduction: USP9X has been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders due to its role in synaptic development and neural function. This study aimed to compare USP9X and TGF-β levels in children with autism and healthy controls, and explore their relationship with autism severity.
Methods: Serum USP9X and TGF-β levels were measured in 41 healthy control children (aged 3-12 years) and 41 children with autism.
Background/aim: This study compares the effectiveness of teletherapy and face-to-face voice therapy in treating vocal fold nodules (VFNs) among female patients.
Methods: Fifteen individuals who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the study and randomized, but after some dropouts, the study was completed with ten patients diagnosed with VFNs. Six patients received teletherapy while four were treated with face-to-face voice therapy.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a very low survival rate due to the late detection and poor response to chemotherapy. Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is considered an important step in tumor progression with regard to invasion and metastasis, and Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling has been shown to play an important role in EMT. Therefore, we aimed to investigate whether indomethacin, an anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug, has any effect on TGF-β-induced EMT in pancreatic cancer cell line and analyze the changes in their molecular structures by Raman spectroscopy and other molecular techniques.

Of all traumas, sexual trauma is the most common, severe and most associated with receiving a BPD diagnosis when adult. Etiologic models posit sexual abuse as a prognostic factor in BPD.

Aim: To investigate the fatigue survival and fracture resistance of PZCs and PFCs cemented with two different types of luting cement [glass-ionomer cement (GIC) and resin-modified GIC (RMGIC)].
Objective: The main objective of this research was to evaluate the correlation between the severity of hearing loss and the facial emotional recognition as a critical part of social cognition in elderly patients.
Methods: The prospective study was comprised of 85 individuals. The participants were divided into 3 groups.
Aside from the typical respiratory symptoms resulting from an infection with SARS-CoV-2, there are reports of cutaneous lesions in patients diagnosed with a SARS-CoV-2 infection. There are reports of multiple groups of skin lesions presenting in different stages of this diagnosis. The most common reported groups are chilblains, vesicular eruptions, morbilliformexanthems, acute urticaria and livedo.

Background: Contamination is a common problem in pediatric restorative dentistry and there are a few studies that investigate blood contamination, hemostatic agents, and tooth dentin.
Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of blood contamination and hemostatic agents on the bond strength of two different bonding systems with the dentin of primary teeth.
Materials And Methods: Buccal and lingual dentin surfaces of 40 primary second molar teeth were used for this study.
The purpose of this study was to determine the retention of prefabricated primary zirconium crowns (PPZCs) and the fracture resistance of samples cemented with four different luting cements subjected to a chewing simulation test with thermocycling mechanical loading (CSTTML). A total of 120 extracted primary molar teeth were selected and allocated into four groups, according to luting cement materials (bioactive cement, resin cement, glass ionomer cements [GICs], resin-modified GICs). After half of each group was subjected to CSTTML, all the samples were subjected to fracture tests and the mean force required to fracture the PPZCs was recorded.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in opacities by applying resin infiltrate to developmental enamel opacities and applying resin infiltrate or fluoride varnish to white spot lesions (WSLs).
Materials And Methods: A total of 132 teeth with WSLs and developmental enamel opacities were included in the study. WSLs were treated with resin infiltrate (Group 1) and fluoride varnish (Group 2), and developmental enamel opacities were treated with only resin infiltrate (Group 3).
Objectives: The aim of this study was to reveal the possible role of endothelial dysfunction in sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) by determining the serum endocan levels of patients with varying degrees of SNHL.
Materials And Methods: Patients with documented SNHL and healthy controls were included in the study, whereas those with a known history of chronic inflammatory condition were excluded. In addition, a recent history of use of glucocorticoids, nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, or any ototoxic medications was also considered as an exclusion criterion due to its potential impact on endocan synthesis and metabolism.
Purpose: To evaluate the effects of Wi-Fi and lactic acid bacteria on salivary mutans streptococci and caries formation.
Materials And Methods: Wistar rats and their offspring were equally divided into two main groups and seven subgroups. Experimental groups were exposed to Wi-Fi during pregnancy and lactation.

Introduction: The early loss of deciduous molars is a frequently encountered problem in dentistry. Various space maintainer designs were developed to prevent the loss of the space. The aim of this study was to evaluate long-term clinical performance and survival rates of fiber-reinforced composite resin (FRCR) as a space maintainer clinically.

These NSAIDs have also analgesic effects and can be administered via oral, injectable, and topical routes. During inflammation, a number of synovial mediators and cytokines are released which decrease the pH level of the synovial fluid.

Materials And Methods: Pieces of Doyle II airway nasal splints made of medical grade silicone were divided into two test groups, treated with either (i) 0.
Objective: The authors of the present study aimed to investigate the impact of hypoxemia on the auditory functions of OSAS patients and discussed their findings under the scope of the existing literature.
Materials And Methods: 160 patients who underwent a polysomnographic analysis for the diagnosis of possible sleep disordered breathing between January 2015 and December 2015 were enrolled in this study. Polysomnography tests were conducted at the sleep laboratory of the department of neurology at the same institute.
The aim of this in-vitro experimental study was to design a novel drug delivery system that may permit controlled release of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) following intratympanic administration. The system was composed of two different solutions that attained a hydrogel form within seconds after getting into contact with each other. The authors performed swelling, pH and temperature tests and analysis of controlled release of NAC from this novel controlled release system.

We aimed to review our experience with the PCF following total laryngectomy and determine the impact of previously reported risk factors on the development of PCF in our patients.

To prevent the formation of biofilm, various methods were employed and varying degrees of success have been achieved. In some recent studies curcumin, which is the fenolic form of Curcuma longa (turmeric), has been pointed out to have inhibitory effects on virulence factors of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

These techniques were reported to be successful in maintaining an adequate airway but also found to be associated with an increased risk of aspiration, dysphonia, and granulation tissue formation at the operation site. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a novel mucosa-sparing technique based on the generation of a magnetic field within the larynx for the tailored lateralization of the ipsilateral vocal fold.

The ageing population has various medical problems, ranging from relatively minor to truly severe. The ageing process includes physiological changes that can also aggravate sinonasal problems such as rhinorrhoea. As one of the most troublesome condition of this population, the causes of rhinorrhea can be classified as "age related, medication induced, secondary to rhinitis and other causes (tumour, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage, etc.
