This study was aimed to identify the most frequently observed pathogens in uncomplicated urinary tract infections from outpatient urinary isolates obtained across seven different geographical regions in Türkiye and to determine whether the antibiotic resistance rates of these pathogens differ significantly between these regions. The study included patients aged 18 to 65 years who were diagnosed with uncomplicated urinary tract infections and had positive urine cultures from March 2021 to August 2022, across 37 different centers in Türkiye. The participating centers were selected based on their use of the disk diffusion method, in line with the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines, to ensure standardization of urine culture data.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 30 children diagnosed with congenital intrinsic ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) and a control group of 30 healthy children admitted to the pediatric clinic between January 2016 and February 2017. The children with UPJO underwent laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty.
Objectives: Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder with an unclear etiopathogenesis. This study investigates the plasma G72 protein levels in drug-naive schizophrenia patients (DNS), those in acute psychotic episodes (AES), and healthy controls (HC). It also examines the correlation between the plasma G72 protein levels and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) scores.

Methods: This study was conducted using a prospective cross-sectional design and included 90 patients, consisting of 60 patients diagnosed with AMI (30 with ST-segment elevation and 30 with non-ST-segment elevation on ECG) and 30 controls (without a diagnosis of AMI). Changes in the levels of cardiac biomarkers (Hs-cTnI, CK, CK-MB), lipid profile (TC, TG, LDL, HDL), MPO, PON, asprosin, and routine biochemical parameters of patients were evaluated.
Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is an enormous global health threat stemming from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection. Up to now, the tremendous advances in combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) have shifted HIV-1 infection from a fatal illness into a manageable chronic disorder. However, the presence of latent reservoirs, the multifaceted nature of HIV-1, drug resistance, severe off-target effects, poor adherence, and high cost restrict the efficacy of current cART targeting the distinct stages of the virus life cycle.

The aim of this study is to document the effects of and preferences of contraception methods used in the sexual lives of patients with thalassemia.
Methods: The descriptive and cross-sectional study took place in Northern Cyprus at a Thalassemia Center in a State Hospital.

In this study, we aimed to examine the effectiveness of relaxation training in women with PMDD through a randomized controlled design. Sixty-three women were recruited and randomized to relaxation training or control groups. The outcome measurements, administered at baseline and post-training, included the Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Nottingham Health Profile (NHP), and Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS).

Common gating controls their activity; its closure simultaneously silences both protomers, and its opening allows them to independently transport ions. Mutations affecting common gating in human CLCs cause dominant genetic disorders.

Our previous studies on natural product-based anticancer agents led us to synthesize a new series of Plastoquinone (PQ) analogs and study their anticancer effects. Four members of PQ analogs (-) were designed based on the scaffold hopping strategy; the design was later completed with structural modification.

The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of oral motor interventions (OMI) on feeding outcomes in neonates with HIE/TH.
Methods: This was a prospective randomised control study conducted between January 2022 and September 2022.

Malus floribunda Siebold ex Van Houtte is a plant planted for landscaping, and its sour and red fruits have been seen to be frequently used in the treatment of diabetes, making vinegar marmalade, and producing natural food dyes. Apart from these usage areas of this plant, it is aimed at determining the phytochemical content. For this purpose, plant parts (fruit, leaf, and branch) were examined.

Rats were split into four groups at random for this purpose: control (C), pomegranate juice (PJ), aluminum chloride (A), and PJ + A.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors (TRAFs) are a protein family with a wide variety of roles and binding partners. Among them, TRAF6, a ubiquitin ligase, possesses unique receptor binding specificity and shows diverse functions in immune system regulation, cellular signaling, central nervous system, and tumor formation. TRAF6 consists of an N-terminal Really Interesting New Gene (RING) domain, multiple zinc fingers, and a C-terminal TRAF domain.

It also investigates potential associations between these biomarkers and symptom severity in schizophrenia and the utility of NGAL as a potential diagnostic and monitoring biomarker for schizophrenia. The study included 49 drug-naive schizophrenia patients (DNS), 59 patients with schizophrenia in remission (REM) on antipsychotic treatment, and 58 healthy volunteers (HC).

However, the incidence of drug-resistant viruses between individuals undergoing cART and treatment-naïve individuals is a common challenge. Therefore, there is a requirement to explore potential drug targets by considering various stages of the viral life cycle.

Oral motor stimulation (OMS) is defined as stimulating the oropharyngeal components such as the lips, jaw, tongue, and soft palate with fingers in preterm infants to increase their feeding skills. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of OMS exercises on the sucking and swallowing skills of preterm infants and demonstrate the utility of objective scales to evaluate infants' readiness for oral feeding.

Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dextranomer/cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Hyadex) in patients with a clinical diagnosis of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR).
Methods: In this cross-sectional multicenter observational study, Hyadex was used in four different centers for the endoscopic treatment of VUR from 2020 to 2022. The study involved 74 patients (93 renal units) who were diagnosed with VUR according to voiding cystourethrography (VCUG) findings and were considered suitable for subureteric endoscopic treatment.
