Since nasal NK/T-cell lymphoma and NK/T-cell lymphoma nasal type are rare diseases, colonic involvement has seldom been seen. We report a case of a patient with a primary NK/T-cell lymphoma nasal type of the colon. The patient had no history of malignant diseases and was diagnosed after exhaustive study in the context of fever of unknown origin.

It is characterized by hemophagocytosis, with cytopenia involving at least two cellular lines, increase in cytokines and serum ferritin. The clinical course resembles sepsis, sharing similar physiopathological features.

Besides the AIDS-related form of Kaposi sarcoma (KS) there are few well-known aggressive types of this disease. These non-epidemic invasive variants of KS have been recognized in young black males of equatorial Africa and in renal transplant recipients after iatrogenic immunosuppression. We report on two white patients without known risk factors who presented an invasive clinical form of KS with negative serology for HIV infection.
