Demographics and Reported Symptoms Associated With Marijuana Use Among Adolescents and Young Adults.

Purpose Marijuana use has been increasing in the adolescent population. Our objective was to examine the prevalence of marijuana use among a sample of adolescents and young adults, determine an association with risk-taking behaviors, identify reported medical symptoms, and delineate common beliefs about marijuana use. Methods A questionnaire was administered to a sample of patients aged between 12 and 23 years old presenting to the emergency department of Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Reproductive Surgery in Females with Obesity: Reproductive Consequences of Obesity and Applications for Surgical Care.

Obesity is the most common medical problem in women of reproductive age. The surgical applications for this population, many of who are interested in current or future fertility, are critical to safe and effective evaluation and management of issues that impact the reproductive system. As rates of obesity continue to rise worldwide, it is projected that one in two individuals will have obesity by 2030 leading to increasing numbers of individuals affected by a disease process that has implications for their gynecologic surgical care, fertility-related assessment, and infertility treatment.

Utilizing student-led contact tracing initiative to alleviate COVID-19 disease burden in central Pennsylvania.

Purpose: Contact tracing elicits probable contacts from COVID-19 cases. Our student-led contact tracing initiative promoted isolation of both confirmed and probable cases and quarantine of contacts to reduce disease in Central Pennsylvania.

Methods: Close contacts of COVID-19 cases were contacted by tracers, advised to quarantine, and monitored for 14 days for symptoms.

Resurgence and alternative-reinforcer magnitude.

Resurgence is defined as an increase in the frequency of a previously reinforced target response when an alternative source of reinforcement is suspended. Despite an extensive body of research examining factors that affect resurgence, the effects of alternative-reinforcer magnitude have not been examined. Thus, the present experiments aimed to fill this gap in the literature.
