Objective: To evaluate a regimen of inhaled Technosphere insulin (TI) plus insulin degludec in adults with type 1 diabetes, who prestudy were predominately using either an automated insulin delivery (AID) system or multiple daily insulin injections (MDI) with continuous glucose monitoring.

Research Design And Methods: At 19 sites, adults with type 1 diabetes were randomly assigned to TI plus insulin degludec (N = 62) or usual care (UC) with continuation of prestudy insulin delivery method (N = 61) for 17 weeks.

Results: Prestudy, AID was used by 48% and MDI by 45%.

Necrotizing Meningoencephalitis (NME), a form of Meningoencephalitis of Unknown Origin (MUO), is a progressive neuroinflammatory disease that primarily affects young, small-breed dogs. Due to limited understanding of its pathophysiology, early detection and the development of targeted therapies remain challenging. Thermophilic microorganisms are expected to have smaller cells and genomes compared with mesophiles, a higher proportion of horizontally acquired genes, and distinct nucleotide and amino acid composition signatures. Here, we took an integrative approach to investigate these apparent correlates of thermophily for Synechococcus A/B cyanobacteria, which include the most heat-tolerant phototrophs on the planet. Phylogenomics confirmed a unique origin of different thermotolerance ecotypes, with low levels of continued gene flow between ecologically divergent but overlapping populations, which has shaped the distribution of phenotypic traits along these geothermal gradients.

The rostral cranial fossa (RCF) consists of the sphenoid and ethmoid bones, which accommodate the olfactory bulbs and nerves along the recesses of the cribriform plate. The diagnosis of primary and secondary CNS neoplasms of dogs and cats relies on histologic examination of autopsy or biopsy samples. In addition, many neoplasms must be further characterized by immunohistochemistry (IHC) for a more refined diagnosis in specific cases. Given the many investigations assessing the diagnostic and prognostic IHC profile of CNS neoplasms in the veterinary literature, it may be difficult for the diagnostic pathologist or pathology trainee to narrow the list of reliable diagnostic IHCs when facing a challenging case.
