The establishment of positive and negative controls in immunohistochemistry (IHC) screening for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements is essential in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. However, positive control of patient tissue is rare and comes with ethical issues. A novel automated solution for ALK IHC quality control management was investigated by comparison with the established D5F3 antibody on the VENTANA system in 87 lung adenocarcinoma specimens with known ALK status re-analyzed by fluorescence hybridization.

Objective: Hematological malignancies often involve chromosomal translocations and fusion genes that drive disease progression. While is well-known in T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL), its role in myeloid neoplasms is less understood. This report presents the first identification of the t(X;1)(q28;q21) translocation leading to the fusion in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) transformed from chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML).

Objective: Multiple myeloma (MM) and Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are distinct hematologic malignancies originating from different cell lineages. Their coexistence is extremely rare, and current treatment approaches are even more so. Therefore, exploring the clinical features of their coexistence and the promising treatment strategy is worthwhile.

Objective: Extramedullary relapse (EMR) is rare in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and, there is a lack of information on its management. Current practices for EMR in APL are always to adopt strategies from other subtypes of Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and Acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Gilteritinib, a highly selective FLT3 inhibitor, has demonstrated a remarkable effect on EMR in FLT3-mutant AML.

Background: Xylanase inhibitors have been confirmed to be involved in plant defence. OsXIP is a XIP-type rice xylanase inhibitor, yet its transcriptional regulation remains unknown.

Results: Herbivore infestation, wounding and methyl jasmonate (MeJA) treatment enhanced mRNA levels and protein levels of OsXIP.

Background: Xylanases have attracted considerable interest in recent years owing to their various applications in industry and agriculture. The use of transgenic plants to produce xylanases is a less expensive alternative to biotechnological programmes. The aim of this study was to elucidate whether introducing a foreign xylanase gene ATX into rice had any adverse effect on plant growth and development.
