Unlabelled: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis on sodium benzoate's effects on cognitive function and other psychiatric symptoms in individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders. We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and PsychInfo databases until September 2023. A random-effects meta-analysis was performed within a frequentist framework.

Purpose: The combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions is strongly recommended by current guidelines for knee osteoarthritis. Purpose: To investigate the effects of various demographic, structural, radiographic, and clinical factors on the prognosis of patients with medial compartmental knee osteoarthritis with varus deformity undergoing medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy (HTO) in combination with bone marrow concentrate (BMC) injection.

Methods: In this prospective study, 20 patients underwent medial opening wedge HTO in combination with BMC injection with 12 months of follow-up. The structural and radiographic outcomes were evaluated by femorotibial angle and posterior tibial slope angle.

Effects of conjugated linoleic acid and exercise on body composition and obesity: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Context: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has been reported to have anti-obesity and antidiabetic effects. However, the benefits of CLA combined with exercise remain unclear, and studies report conflicting results.

Objective: A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to investigate the synergistic effect of CLA and exercise on body composition, exercise-related indices, insulin resistance, and lipid profiles; and of the safety of CLA supplements.

[Scl1 of M41-type group A streptococcus binds low-density lipoprotein].

Objective: To study the interaction of streptococcal collagen-like protein 1 (Scl1) of M41-type group A streptococcus (GAS) ATCC12373 with low-density lipoprotein (LDL).

Methods: We cloned, expressed and purified the recombinant proteins rScl1 and its V region rScl1-V, designated as C176 and C176V, derived from Scl1. 41 of M41-type GAS.

The Scl1 of M41-type group A Streptococcus binds the high-density lipoprotein.

Streptococcal collagen-like protein 1 (Scl1) is a virulence factor on the surface of group A Streptococcus (GAS). We have reported previously that several Scl1 proteins derived from various M-type GAS strains, including M41, can bind to low-density lipoprotein, but the Scl1 protein derived from the M6-type GAS strain cannot. Here, we demonstrated that recombinant protein, designated C176, derived from Scl1.
