Purpose: Orbital inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) are a rare tumor with intermediate biological potential. We analyzed a series of orbital IMTs to determine their unique features.
Methods: Records from patients with pathologically confirmed IMT at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, between January 2004 and August 2022, were reviewed for their ocular presentation and treatment outcomes.
Background: This study aimed to present a case of bilateral symmetric onset of acute idiopathic maculopathy after high fever with peripheral vascular occlusion.
Case Presentation: A 54-year-old yellow female experienced acute binocular visual acuity decrease after 1 day of high fever, and binocular visual acuity decreased to index or anterior. OCT in the external hospital showed dome-shaped cortical detachment in the symmetrical macular area of both eyes with subretinal fluid, discontinuity in the ellipsoid zone and the chimera.
. Until now, limited knowledge remains regarding the association among childhood obesity, cognitive behavior, and brain networks. Utilizing a publicly available dataset, we aimed to investigate the relationships between childhood obesity and functional networks during the stop-signal task.

Four hundred and thirty-five patients with coronary heart disease were recruited in this survey. Data collection was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Mental Health Literacy Scale, Coronary Artery Disease Self-Management Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, and Coronary Heart Disease Self-Efficacy Scale.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) poses a significant public health challenge, increasingly affecting patients' finances, mental health, and functional abilities as the global population ages. Stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (SC-EVs) have emerged as a promising cell-free therapeutic approach for AD, although their precise mechanisms remain unclear. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the effectiveness of SC-EVs in treating AD.

Meiosis is a critical process in sexual reproduction, and errors during this cell division can significantly impact fertility. Successful meiosis relies on the coordinated action of numerous genes involved in DNA replication, strand breaks, and subsequent rejoining. DNA topoisomerase enzymes play a vital role by regulating DNA topology, alleviating tension during replication and transcription.

20-hydroxyprogesterone (20-DHP) is a natural metabolite of progesterone which occurs with two diastereoisomers: 20α-DHP and 20β-DHP. They have drawn attention for their progesterone-like activity since the middle of the 20th century. However, the literature from that era bears witness to a lack of consensus regarding their specific effects.

Respiratory flora is the guardian of respiratory health, and its disorder is closely related to respiratory immunity and respiratory diseases. As a common probiotic in the chicken respiratory tract, Lactobacillus salivarius (L.

Like animal regeneration, cell totipotency and pluripotency are the molecular basis of plant regeneration. Detailed systematic studies on Arabidopsis thaliana gradually unravel the fundamental mechanisms and principles underlying plant regeneration.

Objective: This evaluation aims to describe the pharmacokinetics of noscapine using a semi-mechanistic population pharmacokinetic model and to identify covariates that could explain inter-individual pharmacokinetic variability.
Introduction: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) often triggers oxidative stress through reactive oxygen species (ROS). Transforming growth factor-β-activated kinase 1 (TAK1) plays a pivotal role in regulating oxidative stress and inflammation across various diseases. 5Z-7-Oxozeaenol (OZ), a specific inhibitor of TAK1, has exhibited therapeutic effects in various conditions.

The present evaluation aimed to assess the influence of body mass-related covariates on rifampicin's pharmacokinetics (PK) parameters in more detail using non-linear mixed effects modeling (NLMEM).

Many previous studies have explained the possible pathogenesis and clinical features of primary MEWDS. However, as the number of reported cases increases, secondary MEWDS occurs in other related retinal diseases and injuries, exhibiting some special characteristics.

Experimental measurements of both auxin and cytokinin concentration and reporter gene expression clearly show the coexistence of auxin and cytokinin concentration patterning in Arabidopsis root development. However, in the context of crosstalk among auxin, cytokinin, and ethylene, little is known about how auxin and cytokinin concentration patterns simultaneously emerge and how they regulate each other in the Arabidopsis root.

This study explores the impact of artesunate (ART) on lipid accumulation and inflammatory factors within NAFLD model cells.
Methods: LO2 cells were subjected to treatment with oleic acid (OA) to establish NAFLD cell model.

Background: Bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal (stem) cells [also called MSC(M)] and their extracellular vesicles (EVs) are considered a potentially innovative form of therapy for traumatic brain injury (TBI). Nevertheless, their application to TBI particularly remains preclinical, and the effects of these cells remain unclear and controversial. Therefore, an updated meta-analysis of preclinical studies is necessary to assess the effectiveness of MSC(M) and MSC(M) derived EVs in clinical trials.

The turbulence caused by the pulsatile flushing technique is harmful to the vascular endothelium and may lead to phlebitis. The low-speed continuous infusion catheter technique is a new type of continuous infusion that ensures that the catheter is always in a keep-vein-open state by continuous low-speed flushing; hence, avoiding the problem of catheter occlusion.
