For deep learning-based machine learning, not only are large and sufficiently diverse data crucial but their good qualities are equally important. However, in real-world applications, it is very common that raw source data may contain incorrect, noisy, inconsistent, improperly formatted and sometimes missing elements, particularly, when the datasets are large and sourced from many sites. In this paper, we present our work towards preparing and making image data ready for the development of AI-driven approaches for studying various aspects of the natural history of oral cancer.

One promising approach is a synaptogenesis-involving method, which offers an opportunity for synaptic signaling between these systems. Janus synapses, one type of synaptic interface utilizing synaptic cell adhesion molecules for interface construction, possess unique features that enable the determination of location, direction of signal flow, and types of neurotransmitters involved, promoting directional and multifaceted communication.

Herein, we report a strategy for the spatially resolved imaging of local faradaic processes on nanoscale electrochemical interfaces. This strategy is based on fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) with the use of Amplex Red as a fluorogenic redox probe.

Small ruler tapes are commonly placed on the surface of the human body as a simple and efficient reference for capturing on images the physical size of a lesion. In this paper, we describe our proposed approach for automatically extracting the measurement information from a ruler in oral cavity images which are taken during oral cancer screening and follow up. The images were taken during a study that aims to investigate the natural history of histologically defined oral cancer precursor lesions and identify epidemiologic factors and molecular markers associated with disease progression.

Intelligent computer-aided algorithms analyzing photographs of various mouth regions can help in reducing the high subjectivity in human assessment of oral lesions. Very often, in the images, a ruler is placed near a suspected lesion to indicate its location and as a physical size reference. In this paper, we compared two deep-learning networks: ResNeSt and ViT, to automatically identify ruler images.

Although the impressive efficacy of CAR-based T cell adoptive immunotherapy has been observed in hematologic cancers, limited effect has been reported on solid tumors. Approximately 20% of gastric cancer (GC) patients exhibit a high expression of c-Met.

Background/aim: Glioblastoma is the most common cancer among primary brain tumors, however, its prognosis and treatment advances are very poor. Here, we investigated whether c-Met, FOLR1, and AXL proteins are promising targets for chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, for they are known to be over-expressed in a variety of solid tumors.
Materials And Methods: CAR constructs were prepared and CAR KHYG-1 cells targeting c-Met, FOLR1, or AXL were made by lentiviral transduction.
The 3GPP standardized the physical layer specification in 5G New Radio to support enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) coexistence in usage scenarios including aerial vehicles (AVs). Dynamic multiplexing of URLLC traffic was standardized to increase the outage capacity. DM allocates a fully overlapped bandwidth part (BWP) of eMBB and URLLC AVs to perform the immediate scheduling of URLLC traffic by puncturing ongoing eMBB traffic.

Currently, two CAR-T-cell products, Kymriah and Yescarta, are approved for leukemia patients, and various anti-CD19 CAR T cells are undergoing clinical trial. Most of these anti-CD19 CAR T cells use FMC63 single-chain variable fragments (scFvs) for binding CD19 expressed on the cancer cell surface.

IDH1 mutants produce 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG), an oncometabolite, from alpha-ketoglutarate (α-KG). This 2-HG plays a key role in tumorigenesis via inhibition of α-KG dependent enzymes.

Participants were 310 smokers who attempted quitting smoking, either successfully (quitters, = 213) or not (relapsers, = 97), who lived in slums and were attending a family doctor program. Measurements included a general questionnaire covering sociodemographic characteristics, clinical status and life habits, and the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist - Civilian Version.

However, it is disadvantageous in that the optical response is fixed once the structure is determined. Therefore, obtaining high modulation depth with reversible optical properties while maintaining its fixed nanostructure is a great challenge in nanophotonics.

The side effects of CAR T cells result from an aberrantly upregulation of CAR T cell activity. Therefore, it is crucial to control the CAR T cell activity whenever the patient is at risk.

Although successful degradation of numerous proteins by PROTACs has been demonstrated, the elements that determine the degradability of PROTAC-targeted proteins have not yet been explored. In this study, we developed von Hippel-Lindau-Cereblon (VHL-CRBN) heterodimerizing PROTACs that induce the degradation of CRBN, but not VHL.

The error rate performance can be severely degraded due to channel estimation errors, especially when the number of superimposed packets is large.

A novel pump-free miniaturized reverse electrodialysis (RED) system was designed to provide lasting power transduced from salinity gradients, named solid salt RED (ssRED), and this quasi-battery uses a solid salt instead of electrolyte solution for streamlined usage. It is portable, flexible, comparable in size to a universal serial bus flash drive, and easily activated with a small amount of water. It maintains a constant ionic concentration gradient through precipitation reactions between a pair of different salts.

Objective: The aim of this study was to confirm the association between working hours and self-rated health, and to find the degree of changes in health level by working hours according to gender.
Methods: This study was based on the 929 workers (571 men and 358 women) from the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study during 2004⁻2006. To minimize the healthy worker effects, the study subjects included only those who did not have any chronic diseases, and who answered their health status as "moderate" or above in the baseline.
