- Potato (L.), a crucial food crop globally, includes the L. cv. Favorita variety known for its long oval shape, yellowish skin, and specific nutrient content (17.7% dry matter, 12.4-14.01% starch).
- A complete chloroplast genome sequence of L. cv. Favorita was determined through next-generation sequencing, revealing it to be 155,296 bp long and consisting of various functional gene regions.
- Phylogenetic analysis of 60 chloroplast genomes indicates that L. cv. Favorita is closely related to other varieties like L. cv. Desiree and L. cv. Atlantic.
