Article Synopsis
  • - The combustion of polymer materials produces harmful heat, smoke, and toxic gases, posing health risks, while traditional flame retardants like halogen and phosphorus compounds are not effective at reducing toxic fumes.
  • - Zinc hydroxystannate (ZHS) is a promising eco-friendly flame retardant known for its efficiency, safety, and smoke suppression abilities, but it often needs to be combined with other retardants for improved effectiveness.
  • - This review highlights the current research on ZHS in fire safety, aiming to provide insights into its potential applications in flame retardancy and smoke suppression for various polymer blends, and discusses its mechanisms in detail.

A broadband visible light-absorbing []fullerene-BODIPY-triphenylamine triad () has been synthesized and applied as a heavy atom-free organic triplet photosensitizer for photooxidation. By attaching two triphenylmethyl amine units (TPAs) to the π-core of BODIPY via ethynyl linkers, the absorption range of the antenna is extended to 700 nm with a peak at 600 nm. Thus, the absorption spectrum of almost covers the entire UV-visible region (270-700 nm).

Cardiovascular complications represent a leading cause of mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). During such complicated progression, subtle variations in the cardiovascular risk (CVR)-related biomarkers have been used to identify cardiovascular disease at the incipient stage. In this study we attempt to integrally characterize the progression of cardiovascular complications and to assess the beneficial effects of metformin combined with salvianolic acid A (Sal A), in Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats with spontaneous T2DM.
