Light quality not only directly affects the photosynthesis of green plants but also plays an important role in regulating the development and movement of leaf stomata, which is one of the key links for plants to be able to carry out normal growth and photosynthesis. By sensing changes in the light environment, plants actively regulate the expansion pressure of defense cells to change stomatal morphology and regulate the rate of CO and water vapor exchange inside and outside the leaf. In this study, was used as a test material to investigate the mitigation effect of different red, blue, and green light treatments on short-term drought and to analyze its drought-resistant mechanism through transcriptome and metabolome analysis, so as to provide theoretical references for the regulation of stomata in the light environment to improve the water use efficiency.

This study aimed to delineate the biological role of circNINL in LC and to unveil its potential molecular mechanisms. We discovered elevated expression levels of circNINL and Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1 (FGFR1) concomitant with diminished expression of microRNA-3918 (miR-3918) in LC specimens.

Methods: We used an opportunistic screening with LDCT implemented during the pandemic in Wuhan to study the impact on subsequent thoracic surgeries, especially surgeries for lung cancer. Patients who received LDCT from October 1, 2019, to July 31, 2020, in three Triple-A accredited hospitals in Wuhan were included in the study.
Colon cancer and colorectal cancer are two common cancer-related deaths worldwide. Identification of potential biomarkers for the two cancers can help us to evaluate their initiation, progression and therapeutic response. In this study, we propose a new microRNA-disease association identification method, BNNRMDA, to discover potential microRNA biomarkers for the two cancers.

Four patients received a single- or multi-target radiofrequency ablation after local, potentiated, or general anesthesia; eight patients underwent deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery; and one patient underwent both ablation and DBS surgery. The severity of tics and obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms and the quality of life were evaluated using the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS), Yale−Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (YBOCS), and Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome Quality of Life scale (GTS-QOL), respectively, before surgery, one month after surgery, and at the final follow-up after surgery, which was conducted in December 2018.

Methods: A total of 189 cognitively normal subjects who underwent PET examinations were enrolled.
Objective: This research explored and analyzed LncRNA GAS5 expression in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues and its correlation with Ki67 and EGFR.
Methods: A total of 130 samples of paraffin-embedded NSCLC tissues and para-cancerous normal tissues that were collected in the Department of Pathology from January 2014 to April 2016 were selected. The relative expression of LncRNA GAS5 and Ki67/EGFR in both NSCLC tissues and para-cancerous normal tissues were detected via RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry respectively.
Carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) is a type of metastatic cancer, the primary tumor site of which cannot be identified. CUP occupies approximately 5% of cancer incidences in the United States with usually unfavorable prognosis, making it a big threat to public health. Traditional methods to identify the tissue-of-origin (TOO) of CUP like immunohistochemistry can only deal with around 20% CUP patients.

Musculin antisense RNA 1 (MSC-AS1) is a an lncRNA known to act as an oncogene in several types of human cancers; however, its specific function in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is still unclear. For this study, we designed and conducted experiments to clarify the function of the lncRNA MSC-AS1 in LUAD and its underlying mechanisms.

GBM is currently treated with temozolomide (TMZ), although patients often exhibit resistance to this agent. Although several mechanisms underlying the resistance of GBM to TMZ have been identified, the combination of these mechanisms is not sufficient to fully account for this phenomenon.

Treatment-related cardiotoxicity (TRC) is defined as when the patient is identified to have one of the following clinical manifestations: Symptomatic heart failure, cardiac death, arrhythmia, infarction, a decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of >15% from baseline or a decrease in LVEF of >10 to <50%. TRC may induce severe cardiac failure or cardiac arrhythmia as the main cause of death.

Background: Most patients with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) who show mild symptoms are sent home by physicians to recover. However, the condition of some of these patients becomes severe or critical as the disease progresses.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate a telemedicine model that was developed to address the challenges of treating patients with progressive COVID-19 who are home-quarantined and shortages in the medical workforce.
Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a multisystem disease that affects the liver and a variety of extra-hepatic organ systems. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between hepatic steatosis and glucose metabolism in liver and extra-hepatic tissues and organs.
Methods: The whole body F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) images of 191 asymptomatic tumor screening patients were retrospectively analyzed.
Biological function of plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) in influencing the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) through Micro ribonucleic acid (miRNA)-526b/EZH2 regulatory loop was elucidated. Relative levels of PVT1 and miRNA-526b in NSCLC tissues were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Prognostic potential of PVT1 in NSCLC was assessed by Kaplan-Meier curves.
