Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates how gut and oral microbiota influence food allergy development, specifically using ovalbumin-sensitive mice as a model to analyze these microbiota changes.
  • - Results showed significant imbalances (dysbiosis) in the microbiota of ovalbumin-sensitized mice, with notable decreases in some species and increases in others, while also identifying accurate biomarkers for predicting food allergies.
  • - The findings suggest that changes in microbial composition may play a crucial role in food allergy development and propose specific microbial strains as potential biomarkers for screening food allergies.

Article Synopsis
  • A study conducted in Qingdao, China, examined the prevalence of black stain (BS) and dental caries in preschool children aged 3-5 years old, involving 672 participants from 12 kindergartens.
  • Among the children, 15.33% had BS, while 55.65% had caries, with a notable correlation between caries prevalence and age.
  • The findings suggested that children with BS had a lower incidence of caries (42.72% with BS vs. 58.00% without BS), indicating that BS may serve as a protective factor against dental caries in primary teeth.

This study aimed to develop and assess a chitosan biomedical antibacterial gel ZincOxide-GrapheneOxide/Chitosan/β-Glycerophosphate (ZnO-GO/CS/β-GP) loaded with nano-zinc oxide (ZnO) and graphene oxide (GO), known for its potent antibacterial properties, biocompatibility, and sustained drug release. ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) were modified and integrated with GO sheets to create 1% and 3% ZnO-GO/CS/β-GP thermo-sensitive hydrogels based on ZnO-GO to Chitosan (CS) mass ratio. Gelation time, pH, structural changes, and microscopic morphology were evaluated.
