Urban flood risk assessment is a complex task, as it requires extensive knowledge about hydrological features of the catchment, hydraulic characteristics of the drainage network and social characteristics of residential areas. How to accurately and efficiently quantify regional risk has always been a challenge in this field. To solve the problem, this study is developed to propose a novel integrated urban flood risk assessment approach based on one-two dimensional coupled hydrodynamic model and improved projection pursuit method.
