Ultrasensitive Determination of Amino Acids in Single Cells by Chemical Isotope Labeling with Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Analysis.

Amino acids play multiple critical roles in the regulation of various metabolic pathways and physiological processes in living organisms. Mass spectrometry (MS) has become the most pioneering platform for amino acid analysis. However, the simultaneous and sensitive determination of amino acids is still challenging because of their structural similarity and broad ranges of concentrations.

Diagonally π-Extended Perylene-Based Bis(heteroacene) for Chiroptical Activity and Integrating Luminescence with Carrier-Transporting Capability.

We report the synthesis and characterization of a novel bis(heteroacene), in which four benzothiophene units diagonally fused to a twisted perylene and spatially arranged in a double helical-like structure. The described compound yielded chiroptically active atropisomers with a perfect CD response and furthermore circularly polarized luminescence with a g of ∼1.09 × 10.

Tetrabenzo-Chichibabin's hydrocarbons: substituent effects and unusual thermochromic and thermomagnetic behaviours.

Open-shell π-conjugated compounds have recently received intense attention due to their unique properties and promising applications in materials science. However, the experiments on how the substituents affect their chemical bonding and structural motif remain less addressed. In this work, a series of tetrabenzo-Chichibabin's hydrocarbon (TBC) derivatives substituted by different electron-donating or -withdrawing groups at the termini were synthesized.

A facile approach toward 1,2-diazabenzo[ghi]perylene derivatives: structures and electronic properties.

A new class of pyridazine fused aromatics, 1,2-diazabenzo[ghi]perylenes, is conveniently synthesized from 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene via intermolecular oxidative coupling followed by a condensation reaction. These new compounds are fully characterized via X-ray crystallographic analysis, optical spectroscopy and electrochemistry, in addition to DFT calculations. They show a twisted structure and unique P-/P- and M-/M-enantiomer pairs are observed in their single crystals.
