This study aims to understand variations in specific immune cell subtypes in SAP, uncover their mechanisms of action, and identify potential biological markers for predicting Acute Pancreatitis (AP) severity.
Methods: We collected peripheral blood from 7 untreated SAP patients and employed single-cell RNA sequencing for the first time to construct a transcriptome atlas of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in SAP.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of probiotics combined with Ulinastatin and Somatostatin in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 160 patients with severe acute pancreatitis treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from July 2021 to June 2023. There were 78 patients received Ulinastatin and Somatostatin treatment (Control group), and 82 patients received probiotics in addition to Ulinastatin and Somatostatin treatment (Observation group).

Methods: In the database for Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, the annual data on OCs incidence grouped by age and gender were obtained from 108 cancer registries in 43 countries. The age-standardized incidence rates were calculated, and the Bayesian age-period-cohort model was used to predict the incidence in 2030.

Bronchogenic cysts are rare congenital cystic lesions caused by a development malformation in bronchi during the embryonic period, which mostly occur in the lung and mediastinum, with an extremely low morbidity rate in the neck. A 27-year-old young female was found to suffer from hyperparathyroidism on routine physical examination, and further examination suggested a cystic lesion in the right inferior parathyroid area combined with a tracheal diverticulum.

Background: Reconstruction of soft tissue defects following surgical tumor resection is important for quality of life in cancer patients with oral and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). This study presents a novel computer-aided reconstruction of soft tissue (CARST) technology employed with these patients.
Methods: We first described the CARST technology in detail in a report of a 34-year-old male patient with locally invasive right-sided tongue SCC following a nearly total glossectomy and reported the postoperative outcomes.

Gasless endoscopic thyroidectomy through unilateral axillary approach has advantages of clear vision, simple manipulation, short learning curve, hidden surgical incision, no postoperative neck scar, and less swallowing discomfort. During the procedure the separation path goes through thoracic muscle surface, sternocleidomastoid gap and jugular vein, which may meet various variations of neck muscles, blood vessels and nerves. With the "three-propulsion" suspension cavity construction method the procedure advances the dissection from the axillary incision to clavicle, from the clavicle to sternocleidomastoid gap and from the sternocleidomastoid gap to thyroid.

This procedure has been widely promoted in some Asian countries; however, few studies have described the specific surgical steps for unilateral low-risk thyroid cancer. Based on a review of the literature and our own clinical experience, we introduce in detail the surgical procedure of GTET for the unilateral low-risk thyroid cancer, briefly summarized into Li's 6 steps: surgical position and incision design; creation of surgical cavities; dissection of the superior pole of the thyroid and its vessels, and identification and protection of superior laryngeal nerve; identification and protection of the superior parathyroid gland, and identification of the inferior parathyroid gland; identification and protection of the recurrent laryngeal nerve and the inferior parathyroid gland, and central neck dissection; and processing of the suspensory ligaments of thyroid gland and resection of the tumor.
