Molt-inhibiting hormone (MIH) is a neuropeptide member belonging to the eyestalk CHH family. Molting in shrimp is controlled by MIH and ecdysone. By inhibiting the synthesis of ecdysone in the Y-organ, MIH indirectly suppress the molting activity of shrimp.
