Metabolomics has become a promising method for understanding pathological mechanisms. Plasma (PLS) is the most common sample type used for metabolomics studies, and dried blood spot (DBS) sampling has been regarded as a good strategy due to its unique characteristics. However, how results obtained from DBS can be correlated to results obtained from PLS remains unclear.
