CD8T cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) are often functionally impaired, which limits their ability to mount effective anti-tumor responses. However, the molecular mechanisms behind this dysfunction remain incompletely understood. Here, we identified valosin-containing protein (VCP) as a key regulator of CD8T cells suppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant tumor characterized by rapid progression. To explore the regulatory mechanism of rapid tumor growth and metastasis, we conducted proteomic and scRNA-Seq analyses on advanced HCC tissues and identified a significant molecule, guanine monophosphate synthase (GMPS), closely associated with the immune evasion in HCC. We analyzed the immune microenvironment characteristics remodeled by GMPS using scRNA-Seq and found GMPS induced tumor immune evasion in HCC by impairing the tumor-killing function of CD8  T cells.

Geometry plays a significant role in monocular 3D object detection. It can be used to estimate object depth by using the perspective projection between object's physical size and 2D projection in the image plane, which can introduce mathematical priors into deep models. However, this projection process also introduces error amplification, where the error of the estimated height is amplified and reflected into the projected depth.

Mogrosides are natural compounds highly valued in the food sector for their exceptional sweetness. Here, we report a novel -glycosyltransferase (UGT74DD1) from that catalyzes the conversion of mogrol to mogroside IIE. Site-directed mutagenesis yielded the UGT74DD1-W351A mutant, which exhibited the new capability to transform mogroside IIE into the valuable sweetener mogroside III, but with low catalytic activity.

Despite the importance of spliceosome core components in cellular processes, their roles in cancer development, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), remain poorly understood. In this study, we uncover a critical role for SmD2, a core component of the spliceosome machinery, in modulating DNA damage in HCC through its impact on BRCA1/FANC cassette exons and expression. Our findings reveal that SmD2 depletion sensitizes HCC cells to PARP inhibitors, expanding the potential therapeutic targets.

Transformer based methods have achieved great success in image inpainting recently. However, we find that these solutions regard each pixel as a token, thus suffering from an information loss issue from two aspects: 1) They downsample the input image into much lower resolutions for efficiency consideration. 2) They quantize 256 RGB values to a small number (such as 512) of quantized color values.

The insufficient cyclic efficiency and poor safety have prohibited the commercial applications of the lithium-metal anode because of its uncontrolled dendrite growth at the surface. A mechanically stable and highly ionic conductive solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) holds great promise to address the issues. Herein, a viable surface engineering approach is proposed for stabilizing the Li anode via a scalable artificial method.

Achromatic lenses, which have the same focal length regardless of the illumination frequency, find strong applications in imaging, sensing, and communication systems. Making achromatic lenses with metasurfaces is highly desirable because they are flat, ultrathin, relatively light, and easily fabricable. However, existing metalenses experience combinations of limitations which include single polarization operation, narrow bandwidth, and small numerical aperture (NA).

Myofibroblasts, the primary effector cells for implant-induced fibrosis, contribute to this process by secreting excessive collagen-rich matrix and contracting. Thus, approaches that suppress myofibroblasts may achieve desirable suppression effects in the fibrotic process. As one of the important physical properties of materials, material topographical structures have been proven to affect various aspects of cell behaviors, so is it possible to manipulate the formation of myofibroblasts by tailoring the topographical properties of medical devices? In this study, polycaprolactone (PCL) surfaces with typical micropatterns (micro column and micro pit) were fabricated.

In this work, we cosputtered Ag and ZnSe on a polystyrene template to form a three-dimensional (3D) Ag@ZnSe (x) structure. The 3D surface morphology and material composition that provided abundant "hot spots" were controlled by adjusting the sputtering power of the ZnSe, which was confirmed by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation. The introduction of ZnSe into the noble metal Ag also introduced a charge-transfer (CT) effect into the system, and the CT path was proven with the two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2D-COS)-surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique.

The transfer entropy (TE) based causality analysis is able to provide a typical solution for fault rooting of industrial processes. However, short-term disturbances that occur during nominal operations of chemical processes are usually neglected because of the fixed time window of TE for global data distributions. Inspired by the selective attention idea, we propose attention transfer entropy (ATE) that helps to locate prominent targets.

The Ag and MoO layer-by-layer sputtering method was employed to fabricate Ag/MoO coated on a polystyrene (PS) array (Ag/MoO@PS), which exhibited excellent surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity. The thickness of the MoO layer was controlled by changing the sputtering power. The SERS intensity of 4-aminothiophenol (PATP) on Ag/MoO@PS with a 2 nm thickness of the MoO layer was comparable to that on pure Ag coated on the PS array (Ag@PS).
