Transcriptional activity of telomerase complex in CD34- stem cells of cord blood in dependence of preparation time.

The aim of the study was to determine whether the expression of telomerase subunits encoding genes changes during the process of cord blood preparation. It should establish if the commonly accepted 24 hours time interval in stem cells kriopreservation procedure significantly influences their immortalization and so decreases the "quality" of cord blood stem cells. Investigation includes 69 women.

Comparison of gene expression of mitogenic kinin path in adherent and non-adherent CD 34-stem cells using oligonucleotide microarrays.

One of the more interesting cells present in the umbilical cord blood - as far as their potential clinical use is concerned - are stem cells not presenting the CD34 antigen. These are the pluripotential cells with their biological properties similar to mesenchymal stem cells, with the ability to differentiate into such tissue types as bone, cartilage, nervous (to some extent), glia and muscle. The authors compared the activity of genes coding the proteins in mitogenic signal paths activated by kinin receptors using oligonucleotide microarrays in adherent and non-adherent CD 34- cells derived from umbilical cord blood.

[Evaluation of wild-type estrogen receptor beta and its isoforms: ER-beta/delta 5/6 i ER-beta/delta 6 in endometrial adenocarcinoma].

Estrogen target genes play essential role among pathogenetic and prognostic factors of endometrial adenocarcinoma; and among them estrogen receptor genes. Although prevailing estrogen receptor type is ER-alpha in endometrium, transduction of signal carried by estrogens can be also mediate by ER-beta, which biological meaning relies on modulation of ER-alpha transcriptional activity. There is hypothesized that ER-beta can keep under control mitogenic activity mediating by ER-alpha.

[Usefulness of the pulse oximetry in diagnosis of fetal distress during labor].

We report the computer control system of simultaneous monitoring of cardiotocography and pulse oximetry during labour. Five of twenty five patients have abnormal CTG results with oxygen saturation over 30%. In the three subjects severe late decelerations were related with decrease of saturation to 20%.

[Continuous amnioinfusion in premature rupture of membranes].

Results of premature rupture of membranes treatment including administration of continuous amnioinfusion procedure using amniotal catheter in 18 pregnancies between 23 and 28 weeks of gestation are presented in the study. Only a few early treatment complications and high rate of clinical success in the aspect of fetal surveillance were found. Clinical evidence of intra-amniotal infection after 2-6 weeks of therapy had become cesarean section cause in most cases of the study group.
