A stochastic parabolic model of MEMS driven by fractional Brownian motion.

In this paper, we study a stochastic parabolic problem that emerges in the modeling and control of an electrically actuated MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) device. The dynamics under consideration are driven by an one dimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index [Formula: see text]. We derive conditions under which the resulting SPDE has a global in time solution, and we provide analytic estimates for certain statistics of interest, such as quenching times and the corresponding quenching probabilities.

Experimental study of potential adverse effects on the auditory system of rabbits exposed to short-term GSM-1800 radiation.

Purpose: The effects of the electromagnetic (EM) radiation emitted by a mobile phone on the central auditory system of rabbits are investigated in this paper. Auditory brainstem response (ABR) measurements were performed before and after short-term exposure to EM radiation.

Materials And Methods: Excitation was provided by a GSM-1800 emitter placed in contact with the (randomly selected) ear of the anesthetized rabbit/subject.

Background: Several studies have been carried out in order to investigate the effect of ankle bracing on ankle joint function and performance. However, no study so far has examined the role of skin-brace interface pressure in neuromuscular control. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different skin-ankle brace interface pressures on quiet single limb balance and the electromyographic (EMG) activation sequence of four lower limb muscles.
