Background: The Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ) is a world-renowned publication with valuable contributions from around the globe.
Objectives: To better characterize the journal's evolving representation of global contributions to aesthetic surgery, the authors examined the author affiliations of all articles published in ASJ over the last decade.
Methods: A PubMed search was performed for all journal articles published in ASJ from January 2008 to August 2018.
Purpose: Brachial plexus birth injuries with multiple nerve root avulsions present a particularly difficult reconstructive challenge because of the limited availability of donor nerves. The contralateral C7 has been described for brachial plexus reconstruction in adults but has not been well-studied in the pediatric population. The objective of this study was to determine whether human genetic variation in 5 common CD36 polymorphisms is associated with oral fat perception of Italian salad dressings, self-reported acceptance of high-fat foods and obesity in African-American adults (n = 317). Ratings of perceived oiliness, fat content, and creaminess were assessed on a 170-mm visual analogue scale (VAS) in response to salad dressings that were 5%, 35%, and 55% fat-by-weight content.

Liking, energy intake, and weight-based food intake were assessed for a meal consisting of macaroni and cheese, pudding, chocolate milk and regular milk in high-fat and low-fat versions. Liking ratings and consumption by weight did not differ between versions, but energy intake was 59% greater with the high-fat version.

Until recently, miRNAs have been exclusively found in eukaryotic organisms. A non-immunogenic molecule requiring minimal genomic investment, these RNAs may offer an efficient means for viruses to modulate both their own and the host's gene expression during a productive viral infection.
