Background: Baseline right bundle branch block (RBBB) is an established predictor of permanent pacemaker (PPM) requirement after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Aims: We aimed to identify the distinctive cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) features of patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB) and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) of presumed non-ischaemic aetiology. The secondary aim was to determine whether these individuals exhibit characteristics that could potentially serve as predictors of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) recovery as compared with patients without LBBB.
Methods And Results: We prospectively recruited patients with HFrEF (LVEF ≤ 40%) on echocardiography who were referred for early CMR examination.
Objectives: To determine baseline characteristics predictive of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) recovery in patients diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and presumed non-ischaemic aetiology.

Patients were excluded if they had a known history of coronary artery disease (>70% on invasive coronary angiography), myocardial infarction, coronary revascularisation or anginal symptoms.

Background: Long-term right ventricular (RV) pacing leads to heart failure or a decline in left ventricular (LV) function in up to a fifth of patients. We aimed to establish whether patients with focal fibrosis detected on late gadolinium enhancement cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) have deterioration in LV function after RV pacing.
Methods: We recruited 84 patients with LV ejection fraction ≥40% into 2 observational CMR studies.
Background: Adenosine stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is commonly used in the assessment of patients with suspected ischaemia. Accepted protocols recommend administration of adenosine at a dose of 140 µg/kg/min increased up to 210 µg/kg/min if required. Conventionally, adequate stress has been assessed using change in heart rate, however, recent studies have suggested that these peripheral measurements may not reflect hyperaemia and can be blunted, in particular, in patients with heart failure.

Background: The effects of hyperthyroidism on the heart are well documented, primarily consisting of supraventricular tachycardias, congestive heart failure, and dilated cardiomyopathy. Acute myopericarditis resulting from a hyperthyroid state is an uncommon but recognized association.
Case Summary: A 29-year-old man with a history of Graves' disease presented with chest pain and electrocardiogram changes suggestive of an infero-lateral ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

Advances in cancer therapy have led to significantly longer cancer-free survival times over the last 40 years. Improved survivorship coupled with increasing recognition of an expanding range of adverse cardiovascular effects of many established and novel cancer therapies has highlighted the impact of cardiovascular disease in this population. This has led to the emergence of dedicated cardio-oncology services that can provide pre-treatment risk stratification, surveillance, diagnosis, and monitoring of cardiotoxicity during cancer therapies, and late effects screening following completion of treatment.
