Receptor activator of NF-κB (RANK) and its ligand, RANKL, are essential for osteoclastogenesis and modulate osteolytic bone metastasis. The RANKL/RANK system is also fundamental for mammary gland development and plays a potential role in breast carcinogenesis. c-Src, a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase downstream of RANK, is overexpressed in most breast cancers and plays a key role in several transduction pathways.

Chondromyxoid fibroma (CMF) is a rare benign tumor that typically develops in the metaphyseal intramedullary portion of long bones. The tumor may extend into the diaphysis or, seldom, into the epiphysis, but purely epiphyseal lesions are extremely rare, with only 2 cases having been reported in the literature. In this article, we report the case of a 51-year-old African American woman.

Breast-conserving surgery with radiation therapy has become a standard treatment option in women with localized ductal carcinoma in situ. Re-excision is common in breast-conserving surgery, partly due to lack of consensus on what might constitute an adequate margin. In this study, we aimed to identify potential predictive factors for presence/absence of residual disease after initial breast-conserving surgery.

Introduction: A tumor metastasizing to another malignancy is an uncommon phenomenon. Since it was first described in 1902, there have been fewer than 200 cases reported in the literature, with lung cancer metastasizing to renal cell carcinoma being the most frequently described pattern. Here we report a case of a solitary fibrous tumor of the lung acting as the recipient for a renal cell carcinoma.
