Factors influencing protective equipment use by mountain bikers: Implications for injury prevention.

Aim: To assess the attitudes of mountain bikers to the use of protective equipment and quantify the use of such equipment.

Method: This was a prospective cohort study using an online questionnaire, offered to bikers participating in a series of Enduro races. The attitudes towards various factors that might contribute to a rider's choice to use protective equipment were quantified based on their responses to the questions.
