Purpose: The purpose of the study was to evaluate outcomes, graft failure rates, and complications after transphyseal soft-tissue allograft and autograft anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) in patients with open growth plates.
Methods: Twenty-nine skeletally immature athletes (30 knees) with a mean age of 13.9 years (range, 9 to 16 years) underwent transphyseal ACLR (22 with quadrupled hamstring autograft and 8 with tibialis anterior allograft).
The purpose of this study was to determine differences in insertional articular trauma in infrapatellar tibial portal and suprapatellar portal intramedullary tibial nail insertion techniques. A cadaveric study was performed on 10 matched pairs of fresh-frozen adult cadaver lower extremities with intact extensor mechanisms. Two study groups with 10 limbs each were created: left lower limbs were treated with a standard medial parapatellar nailing portal and right lower limbs were treated with a suprapatellar tibial nailing portal.

Although clinical results are promising, in most studies only mixed procedures have been performed, with short- or medium-term follow-up. Important potential prognostic factors include patient selection, severity of degenerative changes, limb stability and alignment, graft sizing and processing methods, graft placement, and graft fixation.
