Objective: To report on a series of patients treated with immediate unrestricted weightbearing with limited protection following single anchor lateral ligament stabilization.
Methods: Patients with chronic lateral ankle ligament instability who underwent modified Broström-Gould lateral ligament reconstruction with a single double-loaded anchor were identified. Immediate unrestricted full weightbearing in a stirrup brace was allowed the first postoperative day and accelerated physical therapy was initiated from 2 weeks.
Study Design: A retrospective review of 74 consecutive, surgical patients with neuromuscular scoliosis (NMS).
Objective: This study evaluates the distribution of hospital and operating room costs incurred during surgical correction of NMS.
Background Data: Recent studies have demonstrated that surgical treatment improves both medical outcomes and the quality of life in patients with progressive NMS.
Study Design: Prospective clinical trial.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine if an upright positional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol could produce reliable spinal curvature images and measurements compared with traditional radiograph.
Summary Of Background Data: Concerns about the oncological potential from cumulative doses of ionizing radiation in children and adolescents being monitored for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) initiated a search for radiation-free diagnostic imaging modalities, including MRI.
Nut consumption reduces cardiovascular risk, and reductions in blood pressure and peripheral vascular resistance may be important mediators of this relationship. We evaluated effects of pistachios on flow-mediated dilation and blood pressure response to acute stress. Twenty-eight adults with dyslipidemia completed a randomized, crossover, controlled-feeding study.

This alteration may contribute to incorrect identification of a vertebral segment, leading to wrong-level spine surgery and poor correlation with clinical symptoms. Although several studies describe the occurrence of this anomaly in back pain populations, investigation of the prevalence in the American general population is lacking.
