Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the utilization of health team practitioners among national-level athletes and report their injury profile as well as access to and knowledge of chiropractic care.

Methods: This study was a retrospective analysis of non-identifiable, cross-sectional survey data that were previously collected from members of the AthletesCAN organization who voluntarily completed a web-based, bilingual survey in July or August 2017. The sport of the athlete, number of years on a national team, number and type of injuries, health care practitioners visited, and specific details on chiropractic care were collected.

Objectives: To identify sports-focused research priorities to inform the development of a research agenda for sports chiropractors.

Methods: A qualitative description study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with 20 sports chiropractic researchers from 8 different countries and focus group interviews with 12 sports chiropractic leaders from Canada.

Results: 150 research priorities were identified, and three main themes emerged: area of research, research actions, and research methodology.

Background: The inflammatory profiles of patients with acute and chronic nonspecific low back pain (LBP) patients are distinct. Spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) has been shown to modulate the production of nociceptive chemokines differently in these patient cohorts. The present study further investigates the effect(s) of SMT on other inflammatory mediators in the same LBP patient cohorts.

Background: The association between physical inactivity and non-communicable disease risk has been well documented in recent literature. An exercise vital sign (EVS) is a measure that can routinely capture vital information about a patient's physical activity behaviour. The objective of this study is to understand if (1) patient exercise minutes per week (EMPW) are being recorded by chiropractic interns, and (2) whether these patients are exceeding, meeting or falling short of the current recommendations provided by the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines (CPAG).

Introduction: Isolated injuries to the posterolateral corner of the knee are a rare and commonly missed injury associated with athletic trauma, motor vehicle accidents, and falls. Delayed or missed diagnoses can negatively impact patient prognosis, contributing to residual instability, chronic pain, and failure of surgical repair to other ligaments.

Objective: To detail the presentation of a male adolescent competitive high-level soccer player with left sided low back pain that occurred while playing soccer. This case will outline the importance of early detection, risk of progression and management of active spondylolysis in adolescent athletes.

Clinical Features: The patient initially presented to a chiropractic sport specialist with left sided low back pain (9/10 on numeric pain scale rating) while kicking soccer balls with his left leg of one month duration.

Objective: This case study demonstrates the effectiveness of a novel approach to the treatment of post-traumatic myositis ossificans with extracorporeal shockwave therapy in an elite athlete.

Clinical Features: A 20 year-old male semi-professional rugby player presented with progressive pain and loss of range of motion after sustaining a severe, right quadriceps contusion nine weeks earlier. The differential diagnosis of myositis ossificans was suspected and confirmed on radiographic examination.

This case reports an adolescent athlete with activity related chronic bilateral dorsal foot pain and stiffness. A 15 year old competitive female basketball player presented to a chiropractor subsequent to an unsuccessful course of conservative treatment for posterior tibial dysfunction. The patient's plain films were incorrectly read as normal and a CT scan obtained by the radiologist called the findings bilateral osteoarthritis.
