Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the radiographic characteristics in HIV-positive patients who also have pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), focusing on the correlation with CD4 lymphocyte counts and sputum smear results.
  • Among 89 patients, most showed atypical radiographic features, and a significant number had low CD4 counts, indicating weakened immune status.
  • The findings revealed a strong statistical association between low CD4 counts, specific radiographic patterns, and sputum smear results, suggesting that immune status significantly impacts the presentation of PTB in HIV patients.
