Abnormal excitability in cortical networks has been reported in patients and animal models of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and other neurodegenerative conditions. Whether hyperexcitability is a core feature of alpha(α)-synucleinopathies, including dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is unclear.
