Introduction: In case of failure of oral rehydration, children with acute gastroenteritis can be hydrated using intravenous (IV) solution. The choice of the intravenous solution itself (solutions containing dextrose versus crystalloids alone) and the glucose quantities to administer are not well established.
Objectives: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the association between the amount of intravenous glucose provided and hospitalization for children with acute gastroenteritis.

Objective: To assess the effect of periodontal treatment during pregnancy on maternal, fetal and neonatal outcomes.
Methods: This is a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effect of treatment of periodontal diseases on pregnancy outcomes. Primary outcome was perinatal mortality.
Importance: Whether vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy is beneficial and safe for offspring is unclear.
Objective: To systematically review studies of the effects of vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy on offspring growth, morbidity, and mortality.
Data Sources: Searches of Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were conducted up to October 31, 2017.
In this systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies, we aimed to estimate the associations between prenatal vitamin D status and offspring growth, adiposity and metabolic health. We searched the literature in human studies on prenatal vitamin D status and offspring growth in PubMed, up to July 2017. Studies were selected according to their methodological quality and outcomes of interest (anthropometry, fat mass and diabetes in offspring).
