Adults with severe cerebral palsy (CP) are susceptible to malnutrition and metabolic disorders due to limited daily physical activity and challenges related to eating. We hypothesized that the condition of being underweight arises from inadequate energy intake due to difficulties in eating, rather than heightened total energy expenditure or an elevated resting metabolic rate. The present study encompassed 17 adults with severe CP (classified as GMFSC III-V).

Introduction: Both quantitative and molecular changes in ctDNA can hold important information when treating metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), but its clinical utility is yet to be established. Before conducting a large-scale randomized trial, it is essential to test feasibility. This study investigates whether ctDNA is feasible for detecting patients who will benefit from treatment with epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors and the prognostic value of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) response.

Men with testicular cancer receiving platinum-based chemotherapy have an increased risk of thromboembolic events, with incidence rates between 8-24%. A recent trial evaluating the effect of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) prematurely closed as three out of nine participants (33%) in the intervention group developed a thromboembolic event. The purpose of this retrospective cohort study was: 1) (primary) to evaluate the incidence of thromboembolic events in men receiving chemotherapy for testicular cancer who had participated in HIIT during a 6-week exercise program ( 2) to describe the feasibility of this program.

As a consequence of the increased demand for proteins for both feed and food, alternative protein sources from green plants such as alfalfa () have come into focus, together with methods to recover these proteins. In this study, we have investigated the use of screw presses for protein recovery from alfalfa at laboratory and pilot scale. We found that using a pilot scale screw press, with a working pressure of 6 bar, 16% of the total protein was recovered in one pressing, and that after rehydrating and repressing the alfalfa up to ten times, 48% of the total protein could be recovered.

Article Synopsis
  • A Danish Hospital aimed to create a patient education day focused on prophylactic interventions for women at high risk of breast cancer, but needed to understand what content would be acceptable and requested by the women.
  • A user panel developed interview guides for focus groups with women who either had undergone prophylactic mastectomy or were considering it, to determine their preferences and comfort levels regarding the education content.
  • The study discovered that women valued knowledge about interventions and wanted support in sharing their experiences, but some preferred not to discuss their surgeries in group settings; thus, the education day could complement individual consultations instead.
